Winston-Salem Open

A stack of action on Wednesday in North Carolina with a handful of very tight matches. John Millman is left to fly the flag for the Aussies and takes on Ramos Vinolas, a man that he is more than capable of beating on this surface. The night session will have plenty of interest and plenty of fire power with a handful of big servers in action. Former finalist Lukas Rosol takes on in form American Steve Johnson while defending champion Kevin Anderson faces a very dangerous Jiri Vesely.

Feature Previews

Marcos Baghdatis v Donald Young
American Donald Young has been finding his way into the winner’s circle as of late but The Wolf really likes the way Baghdatis has been going about his business. His last 5 losses have been against red hot opponents and men ranked well in the top 20 including Monfils, Isner, Karlovic and Zverev. Young will look to use his forehand but Baghdatis will have no problem trading blows from the baseline. Young has a habit of getting frustrated very quickly and if Baghdatis can prevent him from getting on top early he could really run away with this one. The Cypriot has a superior serve in terms of power and the ability to get free points. It will be the key difference in the match.
Baghdatis WIN ($1.73)

Lukas Rosol v Steve Johnson
Despite having a glaring weakness in his game, the backhand, Steve Johnson has been able to climb his way toward a top 20 ranking. He does a stellar job of covering the backhand but against Rosol you cannot hide. The Czech will serve and volley as he always does and will attack the Johnson backhand almost exclusively. The American will struggle to hit passing shots off that wing and Rosol will be able to hold serve with consummate ease. As a result we are sure to see long sets. There has been at least one break in each of Johnson’s last three matches and Rosol is no stranger to them either. The Over in this one is a special!
Tip: Over 22.5 games ($1.83)
