We didn’t have to wait long for the upsets with Dimitrov, Coric and Steve Johnson all losing as firm favourites. Federer and Cilic stormed into the 2nd Round as did a handful of big servers – namely Karlovic, Muller, Querrey, Raonic and Isner. Tonight we get our first look at Nadal, Djokovic and Kyrgios.
Men’s Wimbledon Feature Previews
Dudi Sela v Rafael Nadal
Nadal may be a two time winner at the All England Club be has has not made it beyond the 4th round since 2011. Following yet another full clay court season he arrives in Wimbledon without a single competitive match on grass in 2018. With injury keeping him out in 2016, it means that he has played just 4 grass court matches in almost 3 years. Nadal is at his best when he plays a large number of matches and The Wolf believes he will be a slow starter this evening. If Seal can take the opening set, this will become a very interesting match.
Best Bet: Over 28.5 games ($1.73)
Tennys Sandgren v Novak Djokovic
The Wolf has been backing against Novak throughout 2018 and it has been a very rewarding play with the former world number 1 posting a 18-9 record in 2018. Eight of those wins have come in his last two tournaments and the time may have come for us to change our tune. Insights from Boris Becker reveals that Novak’s physical conditioning is almost back to it’s best but it is the confidence which is yet to catch up. It has been over a year since he last won a title but if he can be the brick wall that we know. that will be changing in the near future. Sandgren made headlines with a run to the quarter finals of the Australian Open before his maiden final in Houston, but has done nothing since. Djokovic will draw error after error from the Americans racquet.
Best Bet: Djokovic -8.5 ($1.62)
Nick Kyrgios v Denis Istomin
Wimbledon 2018 is Kyrgios’ best opportunity to date in terms of making a major breakthrough. Firstly, he is on the opposite side of the draw to Federer and Cilic – the two men who beat him in Stuttgart and Queen’s respectively. In addition, the likes of Nadal and Djokovic are well below their best with the majority of big servers on the other side of the draw. He has the game to win on grass and has been serving lights out. He does however struggle to break serve and we have seen 9 of his 13 sets on grass this year go to a breaker. As a result, we have to be on the Overs!!!

Women’s Wimbledon Feature Previews
Garbine Muguruza v Naomi Broady
The Wolf is very keen on Muruguza to dominate in this one. She was flawless a year ago dropping just a single set on her way to the title here. She dominated from her very first set and we should see a repeat when she takes on Broady. She has the complete grass court game – everything from the serve to the movement, and most importantly, a very accomplished net game.
Best Bet: Muguruza -6.5 ($2.00)
Aliaksandra Sasnovich v Petra Kvitova
Kvitova is the form player on the WTA Tour with 5 titles in 2018. Her latest success came in Birmingham where she in the sort of form that made her a two time Wimbledon champion. Her lefty serve gives her a huge edge on this surface as do her flat groundstrokes. Sasnovich will not be able to break the Kvitova serve and that means one way traffic. They will not be on court for more than an hour.
Best Bet: Under 18.5 games ($1.73)
