The Wolf may have gone early with his assessment of Thiem threatening Nadal for the ‘King Of Clay’ title over the next year or so. Nadal gave him a thumping and if he maintains this sort of for he will run the table throughout the entire clay court swing. There will be no stopping him in Monaco this weekend.
Monte Carlo Masters Feature Previews
Rafael Nadal v Grigor Dimitrov
Wow is the word to describe Nadal’s win over Thiem. It has been some time since we have seen him hit that many clean winners with his forehand. He have Thiem nothing! He peppered and eventually broke down the Thiem backhand in the way that he has done do Federer on clay in the past. Now it will be Dimitrov’s turn to suffer and his backhand is about to get a real workout.
Best Bet: Under 18.5 games ($1.91)
Alexander Zverev v Kei Nishikori
Zverev had to pull out all the stops in the 3rd set against Gasquet after being down a break. He couldn’t miss a backhand and used it to control the baseline rallies. He will need much of the same against Nishikori, who is finally finding his feet after returning from injury. Nishikori has been using his forehand to work over his opponents and shift them to all areas of the court. The Wolf expects him to do much of the same against Zverev who will be gasping for air after a epic match against Gasquet that went for almost 3 hours. Fatigue to take it’s toll on Zverev in the deciding set.
Best Bet: Nishikori +1.5 ($1.91)
