ATP World Tour Finals – Day 5

The Wolf’s worst fears came to life on Day 4 – after getting to an early lead and serving for the set David Ferrer was blown off the court as Stan Wawrinka simply couldn’t miss. He took the game away from the Spaniard and unlike his performance against Nadal he hit winner after winner. Meanwhile Rafael Nadal wound the clock back and showed the Wolf and the world that he is not done yet. What the match showed was Nadal is a different player when he steps into the court and unleashes his forehand down the line.

On Day 5 we will find out who will qualify for the knockout stages from the Stan Smith Group. Federer needs just a single set to ensure top spot while his opponent Nishikori must need a victory and some favours when Berdych takes on Djokovic. Nishikori has beaten Federer twice in their five meetings but Roger has won their last two – both in straight sets. There is no hiding just how well Federer plays on this court and his win over Djokovic is a clear sign that he has an air of confidence when he plays on this court. Nishikori will need more than luck on his side.

In the second match of the day Novak Djokovic looks to secure qualification with a win over Tomas Berdych. He has a commanding record over the big serving Czech and with 20 wins in their 22 meetings it would take more than bravery to back Berdych. The Czech did push him in Paris though taking him to tiebreakers in both sets but with Novak needing to bounce back the Wolf is expecting a huge bounce back. The world number 1 will be on a mission and the Wolf thinks he will dominate. Berdych is in holiday mode!
