This week has been all about the performance of Grigor Dimitrov. The Wolf though he would run out of puff against Rafa but it was far from the case as he put on an absolute clinic. Murray overcame a tough first set while Ferrer came from a set down to defeat the in form Alexander Zverev. In the semi’s it is hard to look past Dimitrov. He has won 3 of the 4 meetings against Raonic and his confidence continues to grow with every match. In the other semi Murray and Ferrer clash for the 20th time. Murray has won their last 6 including their last 2 on an indoor hard court – both in straight sets.

It was one way traffic in the quarters as all of the favourites progressed. It sets up two mouth watering encounters headlined with the clash between Kyrgios and Monfils. Monfils won their only meeting two years ago but both players have come a long way since then. Both have been serving the lights out but it is Monfils who has been able to harness his abilities best over the last 6 months. When the going gets tough that will be the difference!
