The Wolf noted that Federer has made slow starts on grass in the past and it was definitely the case overnight as 39 year old Tommy Haas came from a set down to cause a huge upset. It capped off a huge night for The Wolf who went 4-0 with his Stuttgart tips including a $5.75 1st Set Correct Score prediction. We will see the completion of the 2nd round matches tonight with Kokkinakis and Tomic both in action.
Tomas Berdych v Bernard Tomic (Thur)
The Wolf said Tomic would make his way back into the winner’s circle and he did just that. He may be 0-4 lifetime against Berdych but only one of their matches has been settled in straight sets. In what is an amazing stat half of the 14 sets that they have contested have been settled via a tiebreaker which brings the Auissie right into this one. Having a match under his belt is another edge with Berdych making his first appearance on grass thanks to a bye in the opening round. We could see multiple breakers which makes the Overs a great bet!
Best Bet: Over 22.5 games ($1.73)
Jerzy Janowicz v Grigor Dimitrov (Thur)
With the clay court season behind us The Wolf is expecting Dimitrov to find his best form over the coming months. Grass is a surface tailor made for his game and as a former Wimbledon semi-finalist and Queen’s winner it is clear that he has the ability to go deep. Anyone who beats Murray on grass in straight sets on grass ought to be respected and he has the essential tool do deal with the booming Janowicz serve – the slice backhand. We have seen Federer neutralise big servers in the past with the slice and The Wolf expects it to be on full display in this one. Dimitrov will look to keep the ball low and we have seen Jerzy spray errors when trying to move forward in the past. Dimitrov in straight!
Best Bet: Dimitrov 2-0 ($1.95)
Roger Federer v Tommy Haas (Wed)
There will be a combined 74 years of age on the tennis when the two veterans take the court but the action will be red hot! Federer makes his long awaited return following a lengthy break and all reports are that he was here early to prepare. Tommy Haas gave the locals plenty to cheer about yesterday with a win over Herbert and he will be hoping that Federer has a bit of ring rust after almost 3 months off. Federer leads the H2H 13-3 including a 4-1 record on grass. In the past Federer has made slow starts in the early rounds on grass. Last year he dropped a set in his opening match here against Fritza and needed multiple breakers to get past Florian Mayer. Haas has the ability to generate free points on serve and will come to the net making him tough to pass. Have to be on the Overs here.

Thanasi Kokkinakis v Dannil Medvedev (Thur)
In just his 3rd match on tour since 2015 the Aussie delivered an upset win and The Wolf says we will back him as an outsider for the second day in a row. There were signs of nerves against Youzhny in his opening round match but the fact that he broke serve 5 times on grass is an excellent sign. His 16 aces in just 2 sets is a reflection of just how big his serve is and Medvedev will have his work cut out for him. Medvedev is not the greatest mover and if Thanasi can stretch him wide and close to the net he will get a lot of easy volleys. Hard to ignore the value on offer.
Best Bet: Kokkinakis WIN ($2.20)
Vasek Posposil v Alexander Dolgopolov (Thur)
Dolgopolov opened $1.80 and has been well backed into $1.73. Rightly so says The Wolf with the Ukranian winning their only encounter in 2014 6-2 6-2. Posposil was at a career high ranking of 25 in 2014 but has gone on a massive slide since as is currently outside the top 100. He may have a few wins under his belt courtesy of a challenger title last week but he made under 60% of 1st serves for the tournament and that will not be goo enough against Dolgopolov. His 3 wins this week (qualifiers and 1st round) have come against men ranked outside the top 200! Dolgopolov put up a great fight against Wawrinka at the French and has previously beaten Nadal on grass. He looked at ease in his opening round win over Darcis and will have no troubles dispatching Posposil.
Best Bet: Dolgopolov WIN ($1.73)
Adrian Mannarino v Alexander Zverev (Wed)
Zverev will have been disappointed with his 1st round exit at the French but The Wolf says he should be very pleased with how he performed on the clay – winning his 1st Masters 1000 title in Rome to go with another title in Munich. In an even bigger positive we now shift to a surface that should be even more favourable to his game. He beat Federer in the semi’s of Halle last year before losing in the final and has the game to succeed on this surface. A big serve, dominating ground strokes of both wings and enough court craft to get into the net. The Wolf will be shocked if he comes up short against Mannarino.
