The opening round continues in both Houston and Marrakech. The Wolf got off to a flyer yesterday going a combined 6-1 across the two tournaments. He is looking to lock in another huge profit today!
ATP Houston Feature Previews
Guido Pella v Sam Querrey
This will be Querrey’s first venture onto a clay court since his opening round loss to Chung at the French Open last year. His run to the final here in 2015 is the only shining light on a surface that he has never performed well on. On that occasion he played very few traditional clay courters and The Wolf is predicting him to struggle against Pella – a veteran of the red dirt. He made the final in Munich (clay) last season and won multiple clay court titles at Challenger level.
Best Bet: Pella WIN
Bjorn Fratangelo v Nick Kyrgios
Kyrgios has played limited tennis in 2018 but when he has taken the court, he has put on a show. He is 9-2 on the season but is yet to translate his aggressive style with success on clay. A runner up finish in Estoril is all he has to show for it on this surface and has never gone beyond the 3rd round at the French Open. He is 21-15 on clay for his career which makes Fratangelo a danger. He destroyed Thompson in the opening round and will hold his own against Kyrgios. Rarely to places step on a clay court after an extended break and achieve instant success.
Best Bet: Fratangelo +4.5 ($2.00)
|Sandgren v Kicker||Kicker WIN ($1.73)|
|Kudla v Karlovic||Kudla WIN ($1.80)|
|Pella v Querrey||Pella WIN|
|Fratangelo v Kyrgios||Fratangelo +4.5 ($2.00)|
ATP Marrakech Feature Previews
Gilles Simon v Roberto Cabralles-Baena
Simon delivered for us in the opening round and The Wolf says we will stick with him. The Frenchman generated 7 breaks of serve against Paire and we should get a free pass with the serve being the weakest part of the Cabrelles-Baena game. The Spaniard likes to play closer to the baseline than your usual clay courter and that will help Simon who likes to take the ball early. The Frenchman’s consistency will get him across the line.
Best Bet: Simon WIN ($1.80)
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez v Richard Gasquet
Gasquet is a perfect 4-0 against Garcia-Lopez with some very lob-sided scorelines. He has won 8 of the 9 sets contested with 5 of those sets coming by at least a double break. The Wolf liked what he saw from Gasquet in his win over Fabbiano and is expecting him to have a big week!
Best Bet: Gasquet -3.5 ($1.73)
|Albot v Seppi||Albot +1.5 ($1.80)|
|Jaziri v Fucsovics||Sets Fucsovics 2-0 ($1.97)|
|Kohlschreiber v Ouahab||Under 20.5 games ($1.85)|
|Ramos-Vinolas v Vatutin||Under 21.5 games ($1.85)|
|Simon v Carballes-Baena||Simon WIN ($1.80)|
|Andujar v Arnaboldi||Andujar -3.5 ($1.70)|
|Garcia-Lopez v Gasquet||Gasquet -3.5 ($1.73)|
