ATP Halle Feature Previews
Roger Federer v Matthew Ebden
Aussie Matthew Ebden delivered as the outsider yesterday with a win over Kohlschreiber. He now faces the ultimate test – Federer on grass. The 20 time Grand Slam champion saved two match points in his win over Paire and The Wolf says this one will be closer than most believe. Mainly because Ebden plays grass court tennis. We will see him serve and volley on a regular basis and he will hit down the line more often than not during rallies in order to come in behind his shots. There has been at least one tiebreaker in 3 of Federer’s last 4 matches and a repeat will go a long way to ensuring that the Overs salutes.
Best Bet: Over 21.5 games ($1.85)
Karen Khachanov v Roberto Bautista-Agut
This is a surface that Khachanov will always to well on. He has a huge serve, his forehand is a serious weapon and he is not shy to venture into the forecourt. Bautista-Agut is as consistent as they come but this match is on his opponents racquet. The Khachanov serve is yet to be broken this week and he is winning almost 70% of points behind his second serve. There is a reason why he is favourite against a higher ranked opponent.
Best Bet: Khachanov WIN ($1.80)

ATP London Tips
Marin Cilic v Sam Querrey
A 5-0 advantage in the H2H makes this seem like Cilic’s to lose but The Wolf has some very interesting stats which suggest otherwise. The Over is 5-0 in their 5 meetings with 11 of the 19 sets contested totaling 12 or more games. Both men will win close to 90% of points behind their first serve which means we are likely to see multiple breakers -as has been the case in 4 of their 5 clashes. It means Querrey should be closer to a coin flip to win this one.
Best Bet: Querrey +2.5 ($1.83)
Feliciano Lopez v Nick Kyrgios
Lopez was given a free path into the quarter with Raonic pulling out with injury and it means he will be ready and prepare to take on Kyrgios. The Aussie made it back to back wins over British players but it wasn’t without drama. He thundered down 32 aces but the number of explicit words that came out of his mouth was at least double that. The H2H between the pair reads 2-2 and this one will go right down to the wire. They are two of the most dominant servers on tour and Kyrgios has traditionally struggled to break serve against players who consistently approach the net. It prevents him from finding any short of rhythm. This is supported by the fact that there have been 5 breakers in the Aussie’s last 3 matches.
Best Bet: 1st Set Correct Score 7-6 ($1.80)
