Atlanta Open

Jared Donaldson delivered in a big way on Day 1 with a comfortable win over Aussie Sam Groth. The first round continue early Wednesday and this time another Aussie takes the court with John Patrick Smith taking on veteran Julien Benneteau. The Wolf has also labelled Fritz at the line a special and says he will not be losing more than 5 games to Austin Smith.

Feature Previews

Julien Benneteau v John-Patrick Smith
The struggles of Sam Groth continues in Atlanta and it is now up to John-Patrick Smith and Nick Kyrgios to fly the flag. Kyrgios wont be in action until tomorrow while Smith finds himself in a match he can win. Frenchman Julien Benneteau has dropped off the radar in a big way and after more than 9 months off last year he has failed to make any inroads in his return to the tour. He has lost in the opening round in 8 of the 9 ATP Tour level tournaments that he has contested and there is really no justification for him to be starting favourite in this one. If there is one thing we know about John it is that he is a fighter. He has either won a set or pusghed his opponent to a tiebreaker in each of his last 8 losses across all levels. The Overs is the best bet in this one and The Wolf says to have a little something on Smith as the outsider.
Tip: Over 22.5 games ($1.91)
4-Chips

Fernando Verdasco v Dusan Lajovic
The pair met for the one and only time in Sao Paulo last year with Lajovic scoring a upset win. That was on his much beloved clay but today it will be a very different story. The Serbian has a 7-19 record in on hard courts dating back to 2012 and he lacks the power to take the game away from his opponents. He rarely steps up to take the ball on the rise and his single handed backhand can be put under pressure when ball are directed there with pace. That is a tactic The Wolf expects Verdasco to use and he will come up trumps as a result.
Tip: Verdasco -4.5 ($2.10)
4-Chips
