Quarter Finals Preview (Sunday)
Set your alarm clocks early on Sunday as the Matildas take on Japan for a spot in the Semi Finals. Japan may be the reigning World and Asian Champions but the Matildas have had some success against them. In their two most recent meetings the Matildas drew 2-2 with Japan after leading 2-0 and lost 1-0 in a very tight battle. The Matildas have been together since the start of the year with several players turning down contract to play overseas in order to commit and build the Matildas into what they have become this tournament. The hard work has already paid off and the sky is the limit. Go Matildas!
|6:00am||Australia v Japan:
|The Matildas amazing run continued this week when they upset Brazil and they are now on a mission to topple the reigning World Cup champions Japan. Lisa De Vanna has been sensational this tournament but it is our defence which has been impenetrable. The Matildas have conceded just twice in their four games and that is a phenomenal record when considering the caliber of the opponents so far. The Matildas will hold on for a draw at the end of 90 minutes ($3.00) and from that point on anything can happen. Go Matildas!|
|9:30am||England v Canada:
England WIN ($2.80)
|Canada have battled their way into the Quarter Finals but their luck cannot last forever. In the 5 games so far they have scored a total of 4 goals and although they have conceded just once they face an English side that has scored multiple goals in their last 3 games. Canada won a pre-tournament friendly 1-0 but form the form guide is pointing to a England WIN.|
