Europa League Tips: Matchday 5

AC Milan and Arsenal both dropped points on Matchday 4 leaving Lazio as the only team in the competition with a perfect record. Meanwhile Everton are done and dusted which should see them play a completely second string lineup.

Europa League Matchday 5 Previews

FC Koln v Arsenal – (Fri 5:00am)
A single point will be enough to seal top spot in the group for Arsenal but as we have already seen in this competition even their second best XI is more than capable of getting it done with ease. Wolfy expects Wenger to roll out the kids just as he did in the last outing with Crvena Zvezda. That means game time for Nelson, Holding, Maitland-Niles and Wilcock. The effect of this means less goals from the Gunners and opens the door for Koln to push for a result. The problem for Koln is that they sit last on the Bundesliga ladder and have been conceding goals at an alarming rate. Nevertheless we should see an open encounter which is great news for the neutrals.
Best: Both Teams To Score – YES ($1.65)
Value: Over 3.5 goal ($3.25)

Everton v Atalanta – (Fri 7:05am)
It has been a season to forget for Everton and the sooner this competition is over for them the better. They are 3 points out of the relegation zone in the Premier League ans have collected just a single point from 4 Europa matches. They cannot qualify for the knockout stages and it would be silly to expend any resources to the final two matches. Undworth should be using these matches to uinearth some new talent and get some fitness into some old legs. They have conceded multiple goals in each of the four matches in this competition and The Wolf doesn’t expect an improvement from them. A result here would put Atalanta in the box seat to top the group and they will get the win.
Best: Atalanta WIN ($2.15)
Value: Atalanta Over 2.5 goals ($4.75)

AC Milan v Austria Vienna – (Fri 7:05am)
Few teams have scored more goals than Austria Vienna in this season’s Europa League but their problem… defence! Only FK Vardar have conceded more goals and it is likely to cost the Austrian side a spot in the knockout stages. It also means that we can back the Overs in their matches with total confidence. There have been at least 4 goals in their last 5 competitive matches and this one will be the 5th in a row.
Best: Over 3.5 goals ($2.25)
Value: Over 4.5 goals ($4.00)
