EPL Gameweek 34 Preview and Tips
EPL Feature Previews
Southampton v Chelsea – (Sat 9:30pm)
The Wolf will be shocked if Antonio Conte remains at Stamford Bridge beyond this season. The reigning champions are in shambles and it is Conte’s ego which is to blame. Failing to effectively replace Diego Costa has proved his biggest downfall. Morata scored 6 in his opening 6 league games but only 5 goals since has left the Blues without a talisman. Conte’s negative tactics have continued to cost his side and his refusal to alter the formation reflects on a manager that lacks both vision and creativity. They now head to St Mary’s Stadium with little to play for. A spot in the Champions League is well beyond them and several of their stars could have an eye on the World Cup rather than the closing month of the season. Southampton on the other hand are DESPERATE! They need all the points they can get in order to avoid relegation. We have seen them take something away with them in 9 of their last 13 home games including draws with Arsenal and Tottenham. The Wolf has no faith whatsoever in Chelsea at the moment and will be backing the Saints in an upset.
Best: Double Chance Southampton or Draw ($1.83)
Value: Southampton WIN ($4.25)
Liverpool v Bournemouth – (Sun 2:30am)
Can anyone stop Liverpool at the current point in time… They are playong a fearless brand of football and the relentless pressure of their front trio has seen them achieve some remarkable results. Back to back wins over Man City has earned them a spot in the Champions League semi finals and they continue to score goals at a rapid rate. Likewise, Bournemouth’s ability to consistently find the back of the net will see them in the Premier League again next season. The Cherries rank 9th in attack and have found the back of the net in each of their last 10 Premier League matches. They have bagged multiple goals in each of their last 3 and Klopp could decide to rest several players after a demanding schedule. There have been at least 3 goals in the last 4 meetings between the two sides with and average of 4 goals per game in that stretch. There will be goals!
Best: Over 3.5 goals ($2.00)
Value: Bournemouth Over 1.5 goals ($4.50)
Tottenham v Man City – (Sun 4:45am)
City have been stunned over the last fortnight. No-one could have seen them losing three in a row at any point this season but it has happened. They were bundled out of the Champions League by Liverpool and failed to clinch the league title – giving up a two goal lead and losing at home to their bitter rivals (Man Utd). The Wolf believed their struggles have not come to an end. They take on a red hot Spurs outfit that have won their last 4 across all competitions – scoring 12 goals along the way. There have been goals galore in their prior encounters with the Overs going 11-2 in the last 13 meetings. There have been an incredible 55 goals in that stretch with 4.23 goals per game and The Wolf cannot get enough on the Overs for this one.
Best: Over 2.5 goals ($1.60)
Value: Over 3.5 goals ($2.60)
Newcastle v Arsenal – (Sun 10:30pm)
Late season revivals have been a common theme for Arsenal but the reality it is has come far too late. They have posted 6 wins and a draw in their last 7 with multiple goals in each of those matches. Winning the Europa League would salvage their season and The Wolf expects that competition to be their priority from this point on. Form is something that Newcastle have also found. Three weeks ago they were in the drop zone but they are all but assured a spot in the top flight next season following wins over Southampton, Huddersfield and Leicester. Arsenal have won the last 10 meetings with the last three coming via a 1-0 scoreline. Wolfy is predicting Benitez to employ a very defensive structure which will turn this into a pretty dour affair.
Best: Under 2.5 goals ($2.05)
Value: Draw ($3.40)
Man Utd v West Brom – (Mon 1:00am)
The criticisms of Mourinho have been put on hold following the come from behind win over Man City. The result helped solidify a top 4 finish and there is still hope of silverware with the Red Devils still in the FA Cup. This will be more of a training run than anything else with the Baggies stay in the Premier League all but over. They are 10 points away from safety with matches against Liverpool and Tottenham still to come. Mourinho’s men have won their last 5 EPL fixtures at Old Trafford and have maintained 11 clean sheets at home this season. They will be making it 12 in a dominant win.
Best: Teams To Score – Man Utd Only ($1.61)
Value: 1st Half Man Over 1.5 goals ($2.80)
