EPL Gameweek 29 Preview and Tips
The alarm bells are ringing at Stamford Bridge and if Chelsea go down to City they could fall as much as 5 points adrift of 4th place. The writing could be on the wall for Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger as the stakes get higher in Gameweek 29.
EPL Feature Previews
Burnley v Everton – (Sat 11:30pm)
One look at the for and against numbers and it is easy to ask just how are Burnley sitting 7th… Only Swansea (21 goals) have scored less that them but they do rank equal 4th in defence having allowed just 25 goals. The key to their success has been their ability to consistently get results against the lower ranked sides and six 1-0 wins epitomises what they are all about! They have not conceded more than once in their last 6 and that includes matches against both Manchester clubs. Mee, Ward and Lowton have been phenomenal at the back and the tireless work of Westwood and Cork in midfield has not gone unnoticed. They play nice and compact with Turf Moor a real fortress for them. They have 6 clean sheets at home this season and The Wolf is predicting them to make it 7. Everton have failed to score in 3 of their last 5 away EPL matches – earning just a single point in that stretch. In fact, Everton have won just 1 of their last 22 away league games! We will be sticking with Burnley at home.
Best: Under 2.5 goals ($1.50)
Other: Correct Score Burnley 1-0 ($7.00)
Tottenham v Huddersfield – (Sun 2:00am)
Spurs took care of business in the FA Cup replay against Rochdale. A second string line-up scored 6 goals in the snow but goals have been hard to come by in the Premier League. You would expect more than 7 goals in their last 5 EPL fixtures but the fact is that they remain undefeated in their last 10 league games. Six clean sheets in that stretch is impressive and tings alarm bells for a Huddersfield side that has failed to find the back of the net in 10 of their last 13 away league games. Kane has 6 in his last 6 Premier League appearances and had a double in Spurs 4-0 win when they met earlier this season. Pochettino’s men have a full week off to follow and The Wolf expects them to really turn it on.
Best: Teams To Score – Tottenham Only ($1.66)
Value: 2nd Half Tottenham 3+ goals ($5.00)
Liverpool v Newcastle – (Sun 4:30am)
Jurgen Klopp cannot ask for more than what he has been getting from his side over the last few weeks. They have scored multiple goals in their last 5 across all competitions and ran riot on Porto and West Ham in each of their last two. The trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino have gone to another level since the departure of Coutinho. They will need to continue that form as Newcastle have caused the Reds some trouble in the past. Liverpool have won only 3 of the last 10 meetings – scoring more than twice in just one of those matches. The Wolf says that will change this time around. Liverpool are undefeated at home in the Premier League this season and have scored a ridiculous 17 goals in their last 5 at Anfield. Newcastle have jagged the odd result away from home but they have lost all 4 away games against top 6 opponents. Liverpool to cement a spot in the top 4 with a convincing win.
Best: Liverpool Over 2.5 goals ($1.80)
Value: Liverpool Over 4.5 goals ($6.00)
Man City v Chelsea – (Mon 3:00am)
City destroyed Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final and The Wolf is expecting another big statement in this one. Believe it or not, their focus will be on this match rather than the UCL encounter with Basel. A 4-0 win in Switzerland means they can play a second string line up which means we will likely see Pep’s best XI for this one. Chelsea would prefer that not to be the case, especially with a top 4 finish now hanging in the balance. The Blues have lost 3 of their last 4 league games and dropped to 5th – two points adrift of Spurs. Willian has been one of the only shining lights for Chelsea with 4 of his side’s last 6 goals. The Wolf sdays one thing is for certain – they will not be sharing the points after 90 minutes. Just 6 of their last 46 meetings across all competitions have ended in a stalemate and with Chelsea needing all 3 points there will be no sitting back. There have been 4 or more goals in 7 of City’s last 11 EPL fixtures and at least 3 in each of their last 13 league games at Etihad Stadium. There will be goals!
Best: Over 2.5 goals & Man City WIN ($2.15)
Value: Over 3.5 goals ($2.60)
C.Palace v Man Utd – (Tue 7:00am)
The Red Devils scored themselves a huge come from behind win over Chelsea and it could be their most significant result of the season. It moves them 6 points clear of 5th placed Chelsea and they should lengthen that gap following their trip to Selhurst Park. United have never lost to Palace in the Premier League era and are undefeated in their last 10 meetings across all competitions – 9 wins and a draw. For some reason Palace have not been able to score against their more fancied opponents. They have managed a total of just 2 goals in the last 9 EPL encounters between the two clubs and with United facing a busy schedule look for Mourinho to focus on defence. The Under is 5-1 in their last 6 across all competitions and The Wolf is expecting them to try and hold on to a narrow lead. With matches against Liverpool and Sevilla to follow Mourinho will turn to his conservative style.
Best: Under 2.5 goals ($1.70)
Value: Man Utd 2-0 ($7.00)
