EPL Preview – Gameweek 16

EPL Gameweek 16 Preview and Tips

The Wolf rolled out all 5 chips for Over 2.5 goals in the Liverpool game last week and it saluted just after half time as the Reds ran riot in a 6-1 win. They will be in the spotlight again this weekend for the Merseyside Derby. Everton have been warned!

EPL Match Previews

West Ham v Chelsea – (Sat 11:30pm)
The Wolf said Chelsea would go on a run in the league leading into Christmas and they have done exactly that with 6 wins and a draw in their last 7 EPL fixtures. The run will not stop there with Wolfy tipping them to win their next 5 barring any significant injuries. Hazard is all but back to the level which won him the Premier League’s player of the year in 2014-15. He has 5 goals and 3 assists in Chelsea’s 7 game undefeated streak but it is more than just what he is doing on the stats sheet. The Belgian is attracting two and three defenders at a time and defences simply cannot play for what he is doing. He will provide the Hammers with nightmares for 90 minutes and they will have no answer. They have registered just a single point from their last 5 EPL matches and have conceded multiple goals in 7 of their last 8 across all competitions. In addition, they are riddles with injuries. Fonte and Carroll are out while Kouyate and  Noble are both carrying niggles. With Chelsea at full strength the Hammers to get hammered.
Best: Chelsea WIN ($1.50)
Value: Over 2.5 & Chelsea WIN ($2.30)

Tottenham v Stoke – (Sun 2:00am)
Spurs used their UCL encounter against APOEL to post a much needed win. Despite Kane and Eriksen being rested we still saw plenty of Dele Alli, Sissoko, Son and Rose – all men who will be backing up. They have been outstanding in the Champions League with 5 wins and a draw but their recent form in the EPL has been terrible by their standards. They have managed just a single win from their last 6 league games and it has seen them fall to 6th on the ladder. In recent weeks The Wolf has pointed out that they have struggled to find the back of the net and he has successfully tipped us into taking Spurs opponents in the double chance market in each of their last two games. Is he brave enough to take Stoke this week… NO! The Potters have a horrific record against Spurs. Tottenham have won each of the last three meetings via a 4-0 score-line. That is as dominant as it gets! Stoke have conceded multiple goals in 4 of their last 5 away league games and have managed just 1 win in their last 6 trips despite finding the back of the net on every occasion. The Over is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings and The Wolf says that trend will continue. Stoke will score but Spurs will find top gear. Their scoring troubles will end here.
Best: Over 2.5 goals & Tottenham ($1.65)
Value: Both Teams To Score – YES ($2.00)

Southampton v Arsenal – (Sun 11:00pm)
Two calamitous errors at the back gifted Man Utd a 2-0 lead and cost the Gunners any chance of victory last week. Southampton should learn from the high pressing employed by Mourinho but they do not have the personnel or the game style to do so. One thing we know about the Saints is that they are ultra defensive when any of the top sides come to St Mary’s Stadium. In their last 7 at home to the top 6 their record reads 0 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses. What is even more concerning is the fact that they have scored just a single goal across those matches and conceded 12. The Gunners have also won the last 3 EPL fixtures between the two sides with a combined score of 9-1. The Wolf really likes what he has seen in terms of Arsenal’s attack in recent weeks. Sanchez and Ozil are linking very effective while Ramsey’s driving runs through midfield continue to go unnoticed by opposing defenders. Arsenal are value!
Best: Arsenal WIN ($1.90)
Value: Teams To Score – Arsenal Only ($3.30)

Liverpool v Everton – (Mon 1:15am)
It’s the latest installment of the Merserside Derby as the eyes of the world will descend on Anfield for one of the great football rivalries. Liverpool have been money for The Wolfpack in recent weeks. They have been relentless in attack and no team in Europe has been able to find an answer for their blistering speed. Following their 5-1 win over Brighton they dismantled Spartak 7-0 to claim top spot in their UCL group. The quartet of Salah, Mane, Firmino and Coutinho have been unstoppable. The Reds have scored 3 or more goals in 8 of their last 9 with a total of 32 goals in that stretch. It is bad news for Everton who were finally finding their feet after a horrible start. The Toffees have won 3 on the trot but that run will most definitely come to an end. Liverpool are undefeated in their last 14 against Everton across all competition and the side in blue have not won at Anfield since 1999. Liverpool are in rare form and with the goals flowing like champagne at a wedding we will again be backing a handful of goals.
Best: Over 3.5 goals ($2.25)
Value: Over 4.5 goals ($4.00)

Man Utd v Man City – (Mon 3:30am)
Have the Red Bull and coffee on standby as this one will be worth staying up for. It is not often that we get back to back derbies and it is a rarity for a derby of this magnitude to also have significant implications in terms of the title chase. Man City are currently 8 points clear at the top but that lead would have been much less had it not been for 3 consecutive game winners in the final 10 minutes. They have been the class of the league but they have looked increasingly vulnerable in recent weeks. They have maintained just 1 clean sheet in their last 6 EPL fixtures and head to Old Trafford where the Red Devils are undefeated in their last 40 games! The Wolf has been very vocal about Mourinho’s defensive tactics against top opposition but that has been more the case on the road rather than at home. United have been perfect at home in the league winning all 7 of their matches scoring 20 goals and conceding just once. That being said, The Wolf cannot see them keeping City out – especially with Pep’s side scoring 46 goals through 15 EPL matches this season. A point will not be enough for Mourinho in this one. United have a 7 point gap on 5th placed Arsenal – more than enough of a buffer to push for all 3 points against City in order to keep any sort of title aspirations alive. This one will be an epic!!!
Best: Both Teams To Score – YES ($1.61)
Value: Over 3.5 goals ($3.10)
