Chelsea

Feature EPL Match Previews

Chelsea v Southampton – (Wed 4:45am)
Following Chelsea’s outstanding win against Spurs at Wembley on the weekend, they’ll be looking to back up on Wednesday morning as they face a Southampton side that have only recorded 1 win in their last 7 attempts at Stamford Bridge.  The Saints are probably playing their most attractive football of the season right now but this will leave them exposed against a Chelsea side that have scored in 15 of their 17 EPL home games against them.  The Wolf has full confidence that Chelsea will be winning this game, given that their focus now shifts to protecting their EPL ladder advantage, however Southampton have won 3 of thie last 4 EPL away matches and Chelsea have now gone 10 EPL games without keeping a clean sheet.  The short price for Chelsea has The Wolf excited as it pushes out the price for Southampton to score.  Spurs showed on the weekend that Chelsea can be vulnerable at the back & The Wolf is backing Southampton to exposes those weaknesses.
Best: Both teams to score ($2.00)
Value: Southampton Over 1.5 Team Goals ($5.00)

Arsenal v Leicester City – (Thurs 4:45am)
The Wolf is looking at the odds and is scratching his head in bemusement. Leicester City’s away record this season has been nothing short of woeful, having collected just 1 win and 7 points all season.  Add to that the fact that The Foxes are on a 20 game winless run against Arsenal and The Gunners have won each of their last 9 EPL home encounters with Leicester, this game has home win written all over it.  Arsenal will take heart from their victory over Man City in the FA Cup over the weekend and given that a 4th place finish is still, just about, achievable, they should be going out all guns blazing in this one.  The Gunners have found the net 23 times in their last 7 EPL home matches against The Foxes and The Wolf can see them bagging a few here.  For Leicester, their season looks pretty much over.  They suffered heartbreak in the UCL and now look safe in the league.  Will they be giving 100% for the rest of the season?
Best: Arsenal score both halves ($1.95)
Value: Arsenal win both halves ($3.20)

Crystal Palace v Tottenham – (Thurs 5:00am)
It was a case of contrasting results for both of these London teams on the weekend as Palace went to Anfield, roughed Liverpool up and came away with their 3rd successive victory at the famous stadium.  For Spurs, they come away from their FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea with a sense of ‘what could have been’.  They were mostly excellent all game and at 2-2, the game was there for the taking.  Unfortunately for them, the double substitution of Hazard & Costa turned the game in Chelsea’s favour.  This does mean that Spurs can now look to continue their impressive EPL form, where they have won 7 on the bounc, in turn cutting Chelsea’s lead down to 4 points.  Palace are enjoying a stellar end of the season also with big wins over Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool – all coming away from home but the Wolf thinks that Spurs have the edge in this one.  Palace have lost each of their last 3 league games against Spurs and with Kane having netted 18 goals in 24 London derbies, they will be losing another here.
Best: Tottenham WIN ($1.61)
Value: Last goalscorer – Harry Kane ($4.25)

Man City v Man Utd – (Fri 5:00am)
A Manchester derby is always a special occasion but this one could have major implications for both clubs as they both fight for the coveted 4th position on the EPL ladder and Champions League football next year.  Unbeaten in 23 EPL games, United head into the clash as one of the form teams in the league.  They have won 8 of their last 10 games away from Old Trafford, conceding just 5 goals in that run.  Something will have to give in this game given that City’s last home EPL loss was against the league leaders, Chelsea, back in December and they have only lost once all season at the Etihad.  City do not have a very good home record this season against teams that currently sit in top 6 of the ladder, having drawn with Liverpool, Spurs & Everton and losing to Chelsea.  Given Mourinho has won just 4 of his 18 meetings with Guardiola, The Wolf can see this game being a cagey affair with few chances for either side.  Mourinho will look to stifle City’s attacking threat by parking the bus and the price on offer for United has the Wolf excited.  At $4.25, this seems overs for a team that is unbeaten in 23 games, regardless of City’s home record.  United will go there looking to frustrate but they will not frustrate Wolf followers.
Best: Double Chance – Draw Or United ($1.80)
Value: Correct score 1-1 ($7.50)
