A-League Tips Round 23

Sydney all but sealed the Premier’s Plate with their third win of the season against bitter rivals Melbourne Victory. Now it is the Mariners turn to taste defeat against the league leaders who have been nothing short of relentless. Perth and Melbourne City will be trying to secure their spots in the top 6 while the Phoenix can sneak into a finals spot with a win over the Wanderers. Brisbane, Adelaide and Western Sydney are again backing up from midweek ACL commitments and The Wolf says we will again take advantage.

A-League Tips & Preview Round 23

Sydney FC v Central Coast – (Fri 7:50pm)
The Sky Blues again showed their class last week and the win over the Victory all but ends the chase for the Premier’s Plate. The Wolf has run out of words to describe Sydney’s defence and they were again perfect. To the naked eye the reward goes to the back 4 but don’t be fooled. sydney FC defend from the front and it is the work rate of Brosque, Bobo and Holosko which makes it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. Brilliante and O’Neill are then able to win all of the loose balls in the centre which cuts off any supply to the opposing forwards. The Sky Blues have conceded just 3 second half goals this season and The Wolf is expecting them to put the cleaners right through the Mariners.
Best Bet: Teams To Score Sydney FC Only ($2.15)
Value Bet: Correct Score Sydney FC 3-0 ($8.00)

Melbourne Victory v Perth – (Sat 7:50pm)
The Big Blue Derby has not been kind to the Victory this season and they lost to their bitter rivals for the third time this season. The initial though is that they will be out for blood but Muscat’s men find themselves in a very interesting scenario. They are 11 points behind Sydney FC and 9 points clear of third placed City. It means they are all but assured a second placed finish and we could see them dangerously coast to the finish line as a result. One teams that hasn’t been coasting is Perth. They have lost just 1 of their last 11 and have been on a lethal scoring spree of late. The extended their multiple goals scored per game streak to 5 games and have scored a total of 15 goals in that stretch – more than any other team, including Melbourne and Sydney. The trio of Castro, Taggart and Keogh have been phenomenal and with the Glory undefeated in their last 8 meetings against Melbourne, The Wolf says we will be all over the visitors.
Best Bet: Double Chance Perth or Draw ($1.98)
Value Bet: Perth Over 2.5 goals ($6.50)
