Epic Moment placed at Caulfield last start and The Wolf is confident he’ll be able to go one better here. He flew out to lead last start and gave a good kick, however he was run down in the final stages by Runson. He meets Runson 5kg better for this and from the inside barrier should get every chance to reverse last start’s result.
Recommended Price: $3.00
Mazaz was narrowly beaten at Randwick last start by under half a length and if he brings his best form here he’ll take running down. He closed well last start in his return to racing in Sydney and off that looks the clear top pick to win here. He’s very well drawn in barrier 2 where Avdulla should look to settle him midfield with cover before peeling out in the straight to give chase.
Recommended Price: $3.70
Aquatic won well for The Wolf last start at Canterbury and he is keen to follow him here. He destroyed a competitive BM72 field last start by nearly three lengths and with a repeat of that run here looks set to do the same again. Kerrin McEvoy takes the reins and from the inside draw he should be looking to settle him just behind the leaders, before taking over in the final furlong to put a gap on them.
Recommended Price: $2.15
Johnny Roo Boy is a very consistent gelding who has found himself a very winnable race. He’s had three runs this prep for one placing which doesn’t read very well, but he comes through some strong form races behind Viceroy, Princefamous and Akasaki. He appeals in this race due to the more fancied runners being first up and with his fitness The Wolf expects he’ll be able to catch them flat footed here.
Recommended Price: $6.00
Our Chiquilla has Freehearted form and if she brings that here she’ll be able to go home the winner. She’s a very consistent mare from the Darren Weir Yard who has finished inside the top three in four out of her last five starts. The Wolf is expecting her to be fully wound up to win here and if she finishes off like she did last start she’ll be winning this. The 1.5kg claim from Ben Thompson also helps and he expects her to put this field away.
Recommended Price: $3.00
It’s Time For Magic has a very good first up record of 4: 0-3-0 and whilst she is yet to win first up, The Wolf is confident that at a price she’ll go very close here. She’s trialled well leading into her first up assignment, finishing midfield behind Addictive Nature and then followed this up with a win ahead of a few very capable types. The Wolf is expecting her to settle midfield with cover before letting down in the straight to give chase.
Recommended Price: EACH WAY at $12.00/$2.50
