Wolf’s Best

Almalita (Geelong Race 5, No.1)

Almalita ran very well first up at Sandown where she led them up only to be run down in the shadows of the post. A winner out to 2540m, the extra trip today will suit and Beau Mertens should be able to control things from the front. This really does look her race.

Circuit Bets

Oria (Hawkesbury Race 1, No.2)

Oria began his career very well back in December with a terrific fourth placing on debut at Canterbury before going to Goulburn and winning comfortably. He resumes here off the back of two excellent trials and this looks like an easy kill for him. Look for him to go on to city class races before too long.

Evolutionist (Geelong Race 3, No.3)

Evolutionist has shown plenty of talent through his career and it is somewhat surprising that he is yet to break the maiden status after nine starts. He gets the perfect chance here though, in a weak race and back after a 54 day freshen. Look for Brad Rawiller to sit midfield and power over them late.

Rocksetta (Rockhampton Race 3, No.5)

Rocksetta is an ex-Victorian galloper now with Craig Smith who recorded an effortless win at his first start in the north last time out. The extra distance today should only help and given the ease of the first up win, it will be no surprise to see him go right through his grades now he is racing in far easier company.
