Wolf’s Sunday Racing Guide – Sunday, 18 February

The Wolf his cast his eye over the fields for Sunday and has singled out a few best bets..

Wolf’s Best

Nothingilikemore (Sha Tin Race 9, No.1)

Nothingilikemore has only tasted defeat once in seven outings and The Wolf isn’t expecting him to taste it here. He won by over a length last start in the Hong Kong Classic Mile and with luck should be winning again. The 1800m poses no threat as he has given every indication it will suit and with Moreira aboard he is the clear top pick.

Circuit Bets

Victorem (Port Macquarie Race 7, No. 5)

Victorem won a Highway Handicap at Randwick last start and if he runs up to that performance here he’ll go home the winner. He beat home All Stand that day who has since franked the form by winning a Highway Handicap for himself by over two lengths. Victorem has won two trials leading into this and looks ready to win first up for The Wolf. Ben Looker has won aboard him three times and with luck they should score their fourth win together here.

Recommended Price: $2.15

Axion (Hobart Race 7, No. 2)

Axion has been freshened since his last win on the synthetic and if he repeats that run here he’ll take beating. He’s drawn well in barrier 4 and with Newitt remaining aboard looks like the clear horse to beat. He won on the grass three starts ago over the mile indicating to The Wolf that the surface poses no threat.

Locks Well (Port Lincoln Race 5, No. 4)

Locks Well has won two from three this prep and The Wolf is expecting her to win her this race here. She’s undefeated over this course and distance and The Wolf is confident this record will remain in tact. She’s drawn a touch wide, however Todd Pannell should look to cross with her and settle just behind the leaders with cover. She’ll get every chance to win here and returning to a track she loves should prove to be a winning move.

Irish Mint (Port Lincoln Race 6, No. 5)

Irish Mint has been competitive in town at Morphettville and The Wolf is keen to follow him here to the provincials. He won well three starts ago when flying out to lead and if he does the same again it his race to lose. He’s undefeated over this course and distance and The Wolf is expecting this record to remain in tact.
