Wolf’s Racing Guide – Friday, 16 February

The Wolf is looking to kick off his weekend with multiple winners around the circuit this Friday! Moonee Valley, Canterbury & the Sunshine Coast all feature!

Wolf’s Best

Allez Bien (Canterbury Race 6, No. 1)

Allez Bien has won her last two starts and The Wolf is expecting her to notch up her third win in a row here. She’s a mare in form and The Wolf was very impressed with her last two wins at Gosford and then in town at Randwick. Stepping up to 1900m is an unknown but the manner of her last two wins suggest to The Wolf that it won’t be an issue. She’ll lead again here and give them something to run down.

Circuit Bets

Invictum Domina (Moonee Valley Race 3, No. 7)

Invictum Domina maps to lead from barrier 2 and if she can find the front within the first furlong she’ll take running down. Her first up run at Pakenham was full of merit where she settle just behind the leaders before giving chase in the straight to finish second. Her best form is capable of winning this race and from the front she’ll get every chance to do so.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.80

The Fox Effect (Canterbury Race 2, No. 8)

The Fox Effect has won her last two starts and with a soft lead early she should be able to make it three in a row. She’s drawn well for this and with only 53kg on her back looks by far the hardest to beat. The favourite Queen Of Heights has a significant class edge on this field, however she maps to get back in the run and The Wolf is prepared to risk her at a distance shorter than 1900m. The Fox Effect will lead with Winona Costin aboard and if the track favours those on the speed again she’ll take a power of running down.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $9.00

Problem Solver (Canterbury Race 4, No. 7)

Problem Solver chased home Charlayne last start at Rosehill and if she brings that form here she’ll be winning. Prior to her placing at Rosehill she was able to win the Magic Millions Maiden at the Gold Coast against a very capable field of gallopers which included – Dinnigan; who was Group 3 placed prior to finishing behind Problem Solver at the Gold Coast. She’s drawn well in barrier 8 where Tim Clark should look to settle her midfield with cover before peeling out in the straight to give chase.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $4.80

Rebel Saga (Sunshine Coast Race 5, No. 1)

Rebel Saga won very well on debut at Ipswich last start by over two lengths and with luck should be able to replicate that run here. She sat outside the leader that day before taking over at the 300m to score. He’s drawn well in barrier 6 where Michael Cahill should look to settle him behind the leaders before giving chase in the straight.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $1.80

Knight Commander (Moonee Valley Race 8, No. 4)

Knight Commander boasts an excellent record of three wins from five and The Wolf is confident he’ll be able to build on that record here. He won over this course and distance last start after settling just behind the leaders and from barrier 3 here he maps to do exactly the same. Ethan Brown takes 2kg off his back which helps and with only 58.5kg on his back he the clear top pick to win this.

Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.75

Bolter

Eccellere (Canterbury Race 7, No. 10)

Eccellere won over this course and distance two starts ago and The Wolf is expecting a repeat of that performance here. Last start she jumped from barrier 11, where she was trapped three-wide throughout and ended up fading to the back of the field to finish last. The Wolf is prepared to forgive her for that run and from barrier 4 with 53kg on her back she’ll every chance to perform at a level that is capable of winning this. Rachel King should look to settle her on the speed and from there prove very difficult to run down.

Recommended Price: $31.00/$6.00
