Wolf’s Racing Guide – Friday, 9 March

The Wolf is looking to kick off his weekend with multiple winners around the circuit this Friday at Newcastle, Ararat & Cranbourne!

Wolf’s Best

Lanciato (Newcastle Race 6, No. 6

Lanciato is looking for his third win in a row here and The Wolf is expecting him to get it. He won the Carrington Stakes ahead of Prized Icon last start at Rosehill and if he produces that run here he will be winning. He’s trialled well since then and with only 54kg on his back he should prove tough to beat.

Circuit Bets

Delos (Newcastle Race 3, No. 3)

Delos maps to lead from the inside draw and with a clean break looks the hardest to run down. His form last prep was outstanding, where he managed to place behind All To Huiying & Kaonic; the latter of the pair is lining up in the G1 Randwick Guineas this Saturday. He’s had two trials leading into this and The Wolf expecting he will prove tough to run down.

Recommended Price: $3.20

Zanahary (Ararat Race 5, No. 1)

Zanahary has won two of his last three starts and with a soft lead from barrier 5 he should be winning again. He can win again and with the 3kg claim gets in very well at the weights. He drops in class but rises in distance, both of which are positives and with luck he’ll prove tough to beat.

Latin Boy (Newcastle Race 7, No. 2)

Latin Boy won four in a row last prep and if he’s returned in good order for this he will take running down. He’s won first up previously and based on his latest trial he looks ready to fire upon resuming. He’s drawn well in barrier 3 where Guymer should look to settle him behind the leading duo before pulling out to give chase.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.20

Toorak Cowboy (Cranbourne Race 7, No. 1)

Toorak Cowboy placed second in his last two races and looks an excellent chance to score a well deserved win here. Last start he placed at Pakenham behind Abyssinian which is a very strong form reference and his placing behind Call me Handsome is equally as good. He’s ready to win and the month break between runs should ensure he is fresh enough to perform at his best.
