Bolek will lead from the inside draw and with luck should prove very tough to run down. The Michael Moroney stable is flying at present and if he can bring his Adelaide form here he’ll be very tough to catch. Moonee Valley is a traditionally a track which favours those on the speed and if he finds himself in front turning for home he’ll take a power of running down.
Recommended Price: $4.40
Absaroka finished fourth behind Nomothaj and if she’s improved off that run she’ll take beating. The step up to 1200m from 100om should suit and from the inside draw she looks the hardest to beat. The Wolf is expecting Damien Oliver to settle her on the speed before letting down in the straight to give chase. Her form behind Nomothaj is outstanding and with luck he expects she’ll be getting the job done.
Recommended Price: $4.60
Shokora was narrowly beaten by Bella Martini last start in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes and if she can repeat that run here she’ll prove tough to beat. She maps to get the dream run from barrier 4 where she can settle on the speed before peeling out in straight. The step up to the mile looks a positive one and with Craig Williams aboard she should be able to get the job done.
Recommended Price: $3.60
Hellbent arguably should have won this race last year and off his last start placing in the Oakleigh Plate he looks set to return to the winner’s stall. He comes into this third up from the spell and looks to be improving with each run. Craig Williams takes the reins which is a very good indication to The Wolf that he is ready to win. He’ll settle worse than midfield, but there should be enough speed on up the front to ensure he gets every chance to run on.
Recommended Price: $6.50
Deprive has shown plenty of ability across his short two-star career and with luck should be winning this. He won well at Canterbury first up against a very competitive field looks well placed to bring up the hat-trick of wins here. His debut win over Gresham reads well for this as Gresham has since come out and broken his maiden.
Recommended Price: $2.75
