Wolf’s Racing Guide – Wednesday, 13 December

Wolf’s Best

She’s Popular (Mornington Race 5, No. 9)

Last start placegetter at Sandown who should be returning to the Winner’s Stall with a victory here.

Last start she settled fourth in the run and looked pretty green in the straight, but once the rider got control of her she knuckled down to finish a narrow second.

Fred Kersley remains aboard here and takes 2kg off which should help her and The Wolf is confident that if can run up to her best here she’ll take beating.

Recommended Bet: Price Pump from $2.50 – $2.75.

Raymax (Mornington Race 2, No. 3)

Last start placegtter who was run down in the last 100m by a city class winner in Positively High; who has since gone on to win at Sandown.

Raymax has since been sent out to spell since that run but has returned in great order after a dominant trial win where he rounded the field up from last over 1190m at Cranbourne.

This trial win indicated to The Wolf that this son of Rothesay could be ready to fire first up and he is keen to side with him in this.

Recommended Bet: Raymax to WIN at $5.50.
Confidence Level:

Royal Patriot (Wyong Race 3, No. 5)

Lightly raced gelding from the Tim Martin stable who The Wolf suspects could lead and prove very hard to catch.

Last start he raced at Kembla Grange where he was blocked for a run in the straight and found himself checking off heels to get going again.

There was plenty of merit in his last start performance as when asked he did respond and continued to chase home the leaders well.

The Tim Martin stable is known for training leaders and with Hyeronimus taking the reins here it is as good an indication as any that they will be pushing forward, especially in a race that appears to be devoid of pace.

Recommended Bet: Royal Patriot to WIN at $5.00.
Confidence Level:

Choice Harvest (Wyong Race 4, No. 2)

Consistent gelding who is looking to end a run of two placings with a well deserved win here.

Last start at Kembla Grange he chased home a tearaway leader to finish an admirable third.

He should be expected to take a forward position in the running and being third up he should be at near peak fitness for the task at hand.

Recommended Bet: Choice Harvest to WIN at $2.50.

Bolters

Innocent Lily (Mornington Race 4, No. 6)

Locally trained mare who is unbeaten when running second up and looks well placed to maintain this record here.

First up over this course and distance she finished off nicely under rider Brandon Stockdale to place sixth, finishing just over two lengths behind the winner.

She’ll be better for that run and with her unbeaten second up record she should prove tough to run down.

Recommended Bet: Innocent Lily EACH WAY at $13.00/$3.50.
Confidence Level:

Prima Stella (Wyong Race 6, No. 8)

Richard Litt trained Galloper who is looking for his fourth win in a row.

He steps up in grade here which is always difficult, but from barrier 2 he should be able to find an easy lead and give them something to run down.

Andrew Banks stays on board which enhances The Wolf’s confidence as Andrew has ridden him to his last three victories.

Expect he’ll lead here from barrier 2 and with his front running racing style should be able to finish somewhere in the money.

Recommended Bet: Prima Stella EACH WAY at $10.00/$3.00.
