Wolf’s Racing Guide – Wednesday, 10 January

Wolf’s Best

Regine (Canterbury Race 5, No. 7)

Regine was a dominant winner at Randwick last start and The Wolf is confident she’ll be repeating that performance here.

She sat just behind the leader at Randwick that day before peeling out in the straight to win by just over a length.

She meets a similar class of field to what she defeated last start and with Blake Shinn retaining the ride she is the clear top pick to win the race.

Recommended Bet: Regine to WIN.

Duchess Pedrille (Canterbury Race 4, No. 2)

Duchess Pedrille won well last start at Canterbury over 1200m and looks well placed to make it back to back wins here.

First up this prep she placed behind Sugar Bella; who has since gone on to win by over two lengths at Randwick in a very impressive manner.

Brock Ryan takes off 3kg off her back and if he can position the mare just behind the leaders he’ll get every chance upon turning for home.

Recommended Bet: Duchess Pedrille to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Evopex (Sandown Race 6, No. 9)

Evopex put in an eye-catching run last start over 1600m at Sandown and stepping up to 1800m here should see him cross the line in first.

He’s drawn well in barrier 4 where Stephen Baster should be looking to settle just behind the speed before peeling out wide in the straight to give chase.

This is a much tougher field than what he faced last start, but in his favour is that he is stepping up in distance and having drawn barrier 4 he shouldn’t find himself doing too much work throughout the race.

Recommended Bet: Evopex to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Belwazi (Sandown Race 7, No. 1)

Belwazi found trouble when turning for home last start at Moonee Valley and had she avoided that she arguably would have won the race.

She’s an exceptional talent having won four races from six career starts and if she can position herself on the speed she’ll take running down.

Stephanie Thornton takes 3kg off her back which helps and and The Wolf is confident she will be putting this field away.

Recommended Bet: Belwazi to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Bolter

Zanahary (Sandown Race 2, No. 4)

Zanahary ran an improved race last start when electing to lead and if he does the same again here he’ll take running down.

He was narrowly beaten by El Phoenix that day who comes through a pretty hot form race at Sandown prior.

Expect Damien Oliver to lead from barrier 1 and give this son of Danerich every chance on the speed to breakthrough for a well deserved win.

Recommended Bet: Zanahary EACH WAY.
