Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 6 January

Wolf’s Best

Aqua D’ivina (Randwick Race 1, No. 6)

Aqua D’ivina has shown plenty of potential across her short three-start career and looks well placed to score her biggest win to date.

Last start at Wyong she was dominant, when going on to win by just over two lengths against a field with plenty of depth.

The manner of her win was visually outstanding as when she was asked in the straight she responded and let down nicely.

She’s well weighted with 54kg on her back and from barrier 3 The Wolf expects her to get the dream run throughout.

Recommended Bet: Aqua D’ivina to WIN.

Tswalu (Randwick Race 3, No. 8)

Tswalu won well first up at Wyong and The Wolf is confident she will be able to do the same again here.

She was first up that day after having a wind operation and if any improvement has been made off that win The Wolf expects she’ll be going 2/2 this prep.

She drops 4.5kg off her last win and having had the first up run The Wolf expects she will be fit enough to win again.

Recommended Bet: Tswalu to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Cellarman (Randwick Race 5, No. 3)

Cellarman won well last start at Warwick Farm and The Wolf is confident he’ll repeat that performance here.

He runs over the mile here which he loves and from barrier 1 he should get a soft run throughout.

Blake Shinn is undefeated in three outings when riding Cellarman and The Wolf is confident he will make it 4/4 with a win here.

Recommended Bet: Cellarman to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Cruze (Gold Coast Race 6, No. 16)

Cruze is a very talented gelding from the Barry Lockwood yard who was dominant when winning last start at Doomben.

He can win again here and his form behind Pierata reads very well for this as Pierata has since gone on to win the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate at Doomben.

He drops 5kg off his last start win and with gate 1 should be able to position himself just behind the leaders early.

He’ll take beating here.

Recommended Bet: Cruze to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Malaise (Randwick Race 9, No. 11)

Malaise is Group 3 placed behind Hey Doc and if he runs up to that form here he’ll take beating.

He’s had two runs this prep where he has finished no less than two lengths off the winner and being third up here he looks ready to win.

Expect Tye Angland to settle him just behind the leaders before peeling out wide to put in a challenge for the lead.

Recommended Bet: Malaise to WIN.

Bolter

Mighty Like (Gold Coast Race 8, No. 4)

Mighty Like is an ex-Mick Price galloper who is having his first run in Queensland with the Kelly Schweida yard.

He’s had one trial leading into this for the new stable, where he won by over a length at Doomben against some formidable types such as Oink, Binary and Lucky Black.

The Wolf is confident that Mighty Like has taken to his new surroundings in QLD well and is keen to back him here on an each way basis.

Recommended Bet: Mighty Like EACH WAY.
