Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 25 November

Wolf’s Best

Bon Amis (Rosehill Race 8, No. 9)

Unbeaten in four career starts; The Wolf is very confident this son of Bon Hoffa will be extending that record to five in a row with a win here.

His first assignment in the city was a winning one last start, where he extended away by nearly two lengths to score a dominant win.

He meets a much tougher field here but off his last start win there is no reason to suggest he hasn’t improved off that.

Expect he’ll settle on the speed again and from there, take plenty of running down.

Recommended Bet: Bon Amis to WIN at $2.75.

Circuit Bets

Written In Stone (Ballarat Race 2, No. 13)

Last start winner at Bendigo who looks very well placed to win again.

The form out of that race has been strong, with Club Tropicana, Shauquin and Elite Joy all coming out and winning.

He won with ease from the rear that day and being second up here should have taken plenty of fitness form that run.

Expect Ben Allen to position him midfield and take over late in the straight.

Recommended Bet: Written In Stone to WIN at $10.00.

Confidence Level:

Mornington (Rosehill Race 3, No. 8)

U.K import who managed to run on well for third at his start in Australia last time out at Rosehill.

He was swamped late in the race that day but suspect this was due to a lack of fitness, as he was first up for 21 months.

He runs here again over 1800m and having had one run under his belt he should be ready to win.

He was well backed last start suggesting someone has an opinion of him and The Wolf is more than keen to be on his side here.

Recommended Bet: Mornington to WIN at $4.40.

Confidence Level:

Zonk (Rosehill Race 4, No. 7)

Speedy mare from the Les Bridge stable who boasts an impressive record of six top three finishes from seven starts.

She finished off well last start, only to be pipped on the line by Machinegun Jubs over this course and distance.

She meets arguably a weaker field for this assignment and with a positive ride from James Innes Jnr should take a power of beating.

Recommended Bet: Zonk to WIN at $2.90.

Confidence Level:

Wayanka (Rosehill Race 6, No. 9)

Consistent gelding from the Chris Waller Yard who won well last start over this course and distance.

He was dominant last start, when beating home some smart operators in Gambler’s Blues who was very heavily backed to win that day.

His best performance has seen him beat home the ultra-talented Interlocuter and if he brings that form here he’ll take beating.

Recommended Bet: Wayanka to WIN at $8.50.

Confidence Level:

Crystal Fountain (Ascot Race 4, No. 7)

A winner of four from six who heads west in search of black type riches.

Last start she finished off well in the Group 3 Begonia Belle, finishing just over a length behind Lyuba and Savanna Amour, both of whom would start a short favourite in this race.

Damien Oliver takes the reins here which adds confidence and The Wolf expects she’ll prove very tough to beat.

Recommended Bet: Crystal Fountain to WIN at $2.40.

Confidence Level:

Ballarat Cup

Mr Garcia (Ballarat Race 8, No. 7)

U.K import who scored a dominant win last start at Flemington by just under a length.

This was over 1800m where he looked to have plenty up his sleeve and the step up to 2200m here looks a welcome rise in distance.

Expect he’ll position midfield and from there take beating.

Recommended Bet: Mr Garcia to WIN at $3.00.

Confidence Level:

Railway Stakes

Silverstream (Ascot Race 8, No. 7)

A winner of two from three this prep who should be ready to peak over the mile.

Her last two starts have seen her win the Group 3 Northerly Stakes and Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes over 1400m, where she has flown home from the back of the field to get up in the last stride.

She steps up to the mile here and if her last two performances are any indication she will eat up every metre of the 1600m on offer.

She’s fourth up here, ready to peak and stepping out the mile should be a welcome one.

Pike takes the reins here indicating that she is the clear top pick of the Peters’ horses and if he is able to slot her in from the wide draw to settle worse than midfield she’ll be able to run down the leaders and prove very tough to beat.

Recommended Bet: Silverstream EACH WAY at $14.00/$4.25.
