Wolf’s Best

Black Heart Bart (Morphettville Race 7, No. 1)

The class runner of the race having won this race last year and multiple other Group 1 races including the CF Orr and Futurity at his last two starts.

Unlike some of his key rivals, he is drawn to get all the favours and he races brilliantly fresh.

The Wolf fully expects him to make it back to back Goodwood wins.

Recommended Bet: Price Pump from $3.50 – $3.90

Double Down: Expect he’ll settle midfield.

Charmed Harmony (Flemington Race 5, No. 2)

Narrowly beaten last start at Caulfield, he struggled to find the early lead and elected to sit outside the speed horse which isn’t his go.

He normally leads and when he does he tends to go very close.

Prior to this race he led and was beaten a nose by Hooked; who is currently second favourite to win a Group 3 in South Australia.

The Wolf is confident that he’s found a nice race with little to no early speed apart from himself, which should give him a soft lead and allow him to dictate terms from the front.

Double Down: Want him leading at all costs.

Confidence Level:

Gallic Chieftain (Flemington Race 3, No. 4)

Ran home very well last start at Warrnambool to finish third when first up for 16 weeks.

He steps up to 1800m here and having placed three from four previously when second up, you can trust that he’ll be ready to go here.

He’s a very promising horse and this race looks very winnable for him to kick start his prep.

Expect if there is rain it won’t be a problem as he’s placed on rain affected ground before.

Double Down: Expect he’ll sit midfield.
Confidence Level:

Bonny O’reilly (Rosehill Race 8, No. 12)

Very talented mare that’s won five from seven.

First up for five months last start and she beat a very handy field.

She’s never missed a placing when second up having run first and second.

The Wolf is confident that she’ll be winning this on her way to bigger and better things.

Double Down: She’ll be on the speed.

Bolters

Be Like Dad (Rosehill Race 6, No. 7)

He went down by a nose last start for The Wolf at $15.00/$3.90, and he’s confident that on rain affected ground here he can go one better.

He’s been ultra-consistent this prep; winning twice and going down by a nose once from four runs.

He drops 3kg from last start with 3kg claiming apprentice; Brock Ryan taking the ride reducing his weight to 54kg from the allocated 57kg.

The Wolf is confident that with his positive racing style he’ll be in front for a long way and the $12.00/$3.60 on offer represents great value.

Double Down: Want him leading.

Confidence Level:

Berry Delicious (Rosehill Race 7, No. 7)

With the expected downfall of rain leading up to and on Saturday this girl’s chances of run a big race get better and better.

She’s second up here so expect her to be better for the first up run, and having placed in three from five runs when second up you can trust she’ll be ready to go here.

Her heavy track stats from six outings; read for three wins and three placings, so you can expect her to be swimming come Saturday.

The Wolf is confident that with the prospects of a rain affected track her chances of winning increase greatly and at $13.00/$4.00 she’s excellent value to get the cash here.

Double Down: She’ll be at the rear of the field.
