Wolf’s Racing Guide – Happy Valley 11 October

Wolf’s Best

Archippus (Happy Valley Race 7, No. 1)

Paul O’Sullivan trained gelding who kicked off his 2017/18 season with a solid second placing at Sha Tin last start.

He closed very well that day and if he has taken any improvement off that run, should be going very close here.

The Wolf expects Purton will settle him midfield from the wide draw and from there, should take plenty of catching.

Recommended Bet: Archippus to WIN.

Circuit Bets

Merrygowin (Happy Valley Race 2, No. 2)

Lightly raced gelding who resumes off a very solid trial performance on the Sha Tin All-Weather Track.

Last season he put together an impressive CV, winning once and placing in three others.

He stays in Class 4 here and with the booking of Zac Purton, The Wolf is confident he’ll take a power of beating.

Recommended Bet: Merrygowin to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Ho Ho Feel (Happy Valley Race 4, No. 8)

Denni Yip trained gelding who should enjoy the return to Happy Valley, where he is a winner of three races.

Last start at Sha Tin he found himself well back in the field, and was left with far too much work to do from the rear of the field.

He returns to Happy Valley here and being fourth up over 1800m should have the fitness edge on this field.

The Wolf is confident that with an even ride from Derek Leung, he should be able to reel in the leaders.

Recommended Bet: Ho Ho Feel to win.

Confidence Level:

Curling Luxury (Happy Valley Race 5, No. 7)

A winner of his last two starts who looks well placed to make it three on the trot with a win here.

He made his own luck last start, leading from the get go and was never headed from there.

Jack Wong stays aboard which adds confidence and with another positive ride, The Wolf suspects he’ll take plenty of catching.

Recommended Bet: Curling Luxury to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Bolter
Dr Win Win (Happy Valley Race 6, No. 6)

A new addition to the Frankie Lor Stable who appears to have found a new lease on life based on his first up run.

Last season under Caspar Fownes’ care he was unable to finish in the top 10, being well beaten every time.

However, last start he ran his best race in Hong Kong – settling on the speed and plugging away to finish just over a length off the winner.

If he has taken any fitness and experience from the first up run he’ll be giving this race a shake and The Wolf is keen to be on him at a price.

Recommended Bet: Dr Win Win EACH WAY.
