Horse Racing Tips – Rosehill
11 August 2017
The Wolf’s racing tips for Rosehill. His best bet is
Vaucluse Bay (Rosehill Race 2, No. 1).
Race 1: 9. Cartel
CARTEL turned heads when an eye catching debut winner a Goulburn last start over 1000m. Has been freshened since then and heads up the Highway from Goulburn with Blinkers applied for the first time. Certainly looks talented.
Race 2: 1. Vaucluse Bay
VAUCLUSE BAY is chasing a third straight success after a dominant win in a stronger race last start at this course and distance. Drops in grade on that run however does rise 6.5kg at the weights. Defeated Arbeitsam at Rosehill two back who went on to frank the form dropping back to 1400m.
Race 3: 7. Arbeitsam
ARBEITSAM has won two of his past three starts and finished second on the other occasion at this course and distance behind Vaucluse Bay who has since come out and dominated against the older horses. Stable ask Arbeitsam to step back up from 1400m to 1800m here but respect their decision and suspect he is up to the task. The horse they have to beat.
Race 4: 7. Sir Plush
SIR PLUSH should be prominent. Has finished second in two runs since winning first up at this course and distance. Kept ticking over since his latest outing with a 900m trial at this course. Ultra consistent and shapes as the one they have to beat here.
Race 5: 7. The Pharoah
Expect THE PHAROAH to be prominent. Was brave in defeat behind Arbeitsam last start at this course a fortnight ago. Has improved with each run this campaign and should be peaking fourth run from a spell. Could potentially work to the front from barrier 1 and enjoy a soft lead.
Race 6: 3. Trekking
TREKKING showed above average ability in his two-year-old season which included a Group placing in the Black Opal Stakes. Didn't handle the heavy track in the Golden Slipper and probably struck a race like that a bit too soon. Looked sharp winning a 735m Randwick barrier trial in readiness for this.
Race 7: 10. Kingsguard
KINGSGUARD likes to give his opponents something to catch and with a break turning for home can prove tough to run down. Two starts ago he led from the get go and was never headed from there. He carried 59.5kg to victory that day and proved far too strong for his opponents. He'll give them something to run down at a price.
Race 8: 6. Faith's Encore
Leaning toward FAITH'S ENCORE at her each way quote. Ran third behind Suspenders and Slumber Party last start over 1200m at Rosehill. Meets both of them on better weight terms for that defeat and in theory should have more upside being earlier in her prep.
Race 9: 4. Imanui
IMANUI has placed in each of his two runs this campaign, the latest over 1550m at Canterbury when well tried late. Tends to get back so racing pattern was never going to be conducive to success around that track. Will at least be fitter again third run from a spell and should take some holding out.
