Wolf’s Greyhound Racing Guide – The Meadows 15/07/17

Wolf’s Best

Are You (The Meadows Race 3, No. 3) ($3.80)
Won here in a commanding time of 29.87 four starts back.

He’s won twice and finished third in his six starts at the track.

Box 3 shouldn’t present too many concerns, with his superior box speed ensuring he can stay out of trouble early.

Trixta Rox is the big danger in Box 5, but it could be all over if Are You hits the turn in front.

Major Player here.

Recommended Bet: Price Pump from $3.80 – $4.40

Caco Potion (The Meadows Race 1, No. 8) ($2.65)
Underrated stayer that’s finished behind superstar; Burn One Down in two of his last five starts.

This son of Kilty Lad is always underestimated in the market, regularly pinging the leads and proving very difficult to run down.

He gets an excellent chance here to score back to back wins here, in what looks a relatively weak Handicap over the 725m.

He’ll fly out of the boxes and with only a -2m spread in the starting distances between him and the lead Greyhound he should have no problem getting to an early lead.

Confidence Level:

Allen Ablett (The Meadows Race 4, No. 4) ($2.50)
Unbeaten son of Fernando Bale that’s won 3/3.

Each start he’s flown out to an early lead having run a 5:16 first sectional time or faster.

A repeat of this time is quick enough to lead them up into the first turn and from the soft draw in Box 4 The Wolf expects him to be doing so with ease.

He’s a very talented operator who looks a serious chance of emulating his father who won the 2015 Maturity Classic.

The Wolf expects him to be very tough to beat.

Confidence Level:

Jimmy Newob (The Meadows Race 6, No. 8) ($1.55)
One of Australia’s most promising young chasers that picks himself every time he races.

He owns a flying 29.66 over this course and distance and any run close to that sees him dominating this field.

He won from box 8 last start here posting a 5:06 first sectional time from out wide.

The Wolf is confident that this talented son of Cosmic Rumble will be qualifying for next week’s Semi Final’s of the Group 1 Maturity Classic Final, and if so could prove awfully hard to beat.

Confidence Level:

Bolter

Aston Frankel (The Meadows Race 7, No. 8) ($10.00)
Speedy son of Fabregal that can fly like missile.

Not often do you get double figures on a Greyhound that’s run in the top three, seven out of his nine career outings.

He’s been unlucky in his two starts at The Meadows; having copped check after check in the run both times.

The Wolf is confident the current quote of $10.00/$2.35 is well over the odds and if he gets any sort of luck in the running he’ll be testing these.

You can trust that Trainer Joe Borg has him at peak fitness for the task at hand.
