Wolf’s Greyhound Racing Guide – Sandown Park 3/8/17

Wolf’s Best

Vens Revenge (Sandown Park Race 3, No. 7)

Unlucky not to have won last start, after copping a costly check on the first turn hampering his chances.

He jumped well that day only to be checked twice which cost him lengths upon straightening down the back straight.

He appears to be the speed runner on paper and if he can cross and lead early he’ll prove tough to run down.

Landmark (Sandown Park Race 5, No. 2)

Winner of the Group 2 Bendigo Cup last start and with clear running looks the one to hold out.

He’s not the fastest Greyhound out of the boxes but he drops significantly in class off his last two runs, and with clear running is more than able of running this field down.

He’s the one to beat here against what appears to be a mediocre field.

Confidence Level:

Black Impala (Sandown Park Race 7, No. 5)

Airborne at present; winning two starts back in a speedy 34.31 and looks well drawn in box five to repeat that effort here.

He’s run two very big races over the 595m in his last two starts and The Wolf suspects this might be a preferred distance.

From Box 5 he’s in the squeeze box so he’ll need to be quick out, but with speed drawn to the outside of him The Wolf is confident he get out cleanly.

Aston Bolero (Sandown Park Race 6, No. 3)

Aston Bolero flies out of the boxes like a rocket and with an inside draw looks a major player in this.

There is a lot of speed drawn out wide and The Wolf expects this could cause problems for those drawn in boxes 5 – 8.

He’s a genuine 450m dog and can struggle in the finish over 500m, but if he can put a few lengths on them early and create a lead he’ll give them something to chase.

The Wolf reckons he’s drawn to win in box 3 and if he finds the rails early he’ll prove tough to run down.

Worm Burner (Sandown Park Race 8, No. 5)

Sandown specialist that’s won eight from 11 over this course and distance.

He’s won his last three here in Free For All company breaking 30.00 each time.

That is an excellent form reference and although he meets a much tougher field here than in his previous three starts; he loves the track and with a clean run looks the one to beat.
