The Big Marn's NRL Preliminary Finals Preview

Big Marn Prelim

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Sydney Roosters

Friday 26th September, 7:55pm AEST

ANZ Stadium

Big Marn Says:  The Roosters will be the first side to book their spot in this year’s grand final. The defending premiers have the Rabbitohs measure, particularly in the big matches.

Both sides started brilliantly in their most recent matches and for some reason dropped off with the Roosters conceding 30 points, while the Rabbits gave up 24 points.

Coaches Michael Maguire and Trent Robinson  would have spoken about playing for the full 80 minutes and we should be in for a classic with both teams at full strength.

Rabbitohs backrower Sam Burgess along with Roosters pair Sonny Bill Williams and Anthony Minichiello will have extra incentive to get the victory, as this could potentially be their last match in the NRL.

Expecting the Roosters to fire up for their old rivals and deny the long suffering Bunnies once again.

Recommended Bet: Sydney Roosters -1.5 ($1.92)

Penrith Panthers vs Canterbury Bulldogs

Saturday 27th September, 7:55pm AEST

ANZ Stadium

Big Marn Says:  Really like the Doggies here. Both sides have been tremendous this finals series but the Bulldogs are running with all of the momentum at the moment despite a scare last week.

It’s been mentioned plenty of times this season but the Panthers injury list eventually has to take its toll, especially in a high pressure match like this.

This game could also be decided by the halves with the NSW Origin pairing of Josh Reynolds and Trent Hodkinson holding an advantage over the inexperienced Will Smith and the in-form Jamie Soward.

The Bulldogs are starting to look like the side who made the 2012 NRL grand final and they’ll be booking their spot in the grand final for the second time in the past three years.

It’s also been ten years but we’ll be seeing a repeat of the 2004 grand final between the Roosters and Bulldogs. Should be a beauty!

Recommended Bet: Canterbury Bulldogs -2 ($1.92)

BEST BET: Roosters into Bulldogs ($3.63)
