Sunshine Coast v Redcliffe
Sunshine Coast’s form has fallen away dramatically in the last month with just a single win in their last four, culminating in a terrible 26-18 loss to stragglers Mackay, just the Cutters’ second win of the season. The loss of Storm players Curtis Scott and Richie Kennar won’t help their chances of winning this weekend against a Dolphins team that had won five straight before a surprise 11-10 loss to Wynnum Manly last weekend. No team changes assists.
Best Bet: Redcliffe -4.5 ($1.90)
Souths Logan v Wynnum Manly
The Magpies have surged up the ladder on the back of just a single loss in their last seven outings, up to seventh on the ladder and just out of the finals on differential. They smacked Townsville with half Sam Scarlett scoring his second double in as many weeks. Wynnum caused a shock last week against Redcliffe but they have failed to surpass 11 points in their last four outings after averaging 39.2 in their five before.
Burleigh v Norths Devils
Burleigh smoked Norths 26-6 at Bishop Park back in Round 5 and can do something similar this week. The Bears have been in scintillating form of late with four straight wins, including a 44-20 win over the Capras. The Bears have won four straight against teams outside the Top 6 by 12 or more. Norths were dreadful against the Tigers last week and have dropped their last four road games by 16-plus.
Best Bet: Burleigh -10.5 ($1.90)
Easts Tigers v CQ Capras
The Capras are in all sorts with losses of 14-plus in their last three and seven of their last nine. They have bobbed up occasionally but it is hard to see them competing with an Easts Tigers team that is undefeated at home this year. The Tigers won 30-10 when the teams met in Round 5 and it could be bigger this time around, even with Slade Griffin missing from the No.9 jersey.
Northern Pride v Ipswich
The Walker boys have the Jets humming along nicely with three straight wins, their best streak of the season. Their Round 15 win over the Blackhawks was a statement win. The Pride have dropped three of their last five home games.
