Wests Tigers v North Queensland Cowboys

Sunday, August 7, 4pm (AEST), Leichhardt Oval, Sydney
Best Bet: Wests Tigers +6.5 ($1.91)
Other: Wests Tigers +8.5 ($1.67)

The Tigers sit just outside the Top 8 and will fancy their chances of knocking off a North Queensland team that appears unlikely to have Johnathan Thurston available for the second straight week.

Selection Notes
The Tigers have lost Luke Brooks with Jack Littlejohn replacing him. Robbie Farah missed selection again. North Queensland are unchanged with Johnathan Thurston still out.

Round 22 NRL Odds

Key Matchup
James Tedesco v North Queensland Cowboys. Tedesco is the best fullback in the premiership and continues to get better while Coote has found his niche playing a style very similar to Brett Stewart in his heyday. These are two accomplished No.1s who should have a great battle at Leichhardt.

Stats That Matter
Wests Tigers are 10-9 ATS with a 10-9 over record while North Queensland are also 10-9 ATS with an 11-8 under record. Day games in the final seven rounds of the year go over at a clip of 59% while home underdogs of 6.5 or more hit at 67%. The Tigers have covered their last three at Leichhardt with five of the last six going over. They are 6-3 ATS at the ground since 2008 when an underdog at the ground since 2008. The Cowboys have gone under in their last five away games while they have covered 6 of their last 9 away when favoured by 4 or more. Away favourites of 4 or more off a loss cover at just 44%. The Tigers have covered just 1 of their last 6 day games. Home underdogs of 6.5 or more off a double digit win are 9-4 ATS.

In-Play Stat
The Tigers are 0-6 when behind at halftime this year while the Cowboys are 11-0 when leading at the break.

Behind The Curtains

Final Thoughts
The Tigers are a live show in this one even with Robbie Farah and Luke Brooks sidelined. Big home underdogs are great bets this time of year and the Tigers do find at Leichhardt. The likely absence of Johnathan Thurston also counts against the Cowboys here. The Tigers are going well enough to keep this one close. Tig
