Anthony Milford is in doubt for Thursday’s blockbuster with Canterbury after leaving training early. Milford tweaked a hamstring.
Ricky Stuart is doing his best to keep Kato Ottio at the club. Ottio has not gotten a run in first grade despite some exceptional NSW Cup form.
Canterbury are believed to have made a late play for Robbie Farah in a move that has upset Michael Lichaa. Lichaa has struggled throughout 2016 and at best will be splitting time next year.
Paul Gallen’s calf injury may be more serious that announced. Gallen was a late out on Saturday night and could miss the rest of the regular season.
Gold Coast Titans
The Tians have made a late bid to keep Greg Bird at the Titans. Bird has been tough this year but was expected to sign with Newcastle.
Manly Sea Eagles
St Helens half Luke Walsh is expected to sign with Manly for the 2017 season. Walsh has been in great form for the Saints over the last few years.
Paul Vaughan continues to be linked with the Melbourne Storm. Vaughan is filthy about being left out of the Raiders top grade team.
Newcastle are set to move on veteran Jarrod Mullen in a move that is sure to upset locals. Mullen will go along with veterans Kade Snowden and Akuila Uate.
New Zealand Warriors
Andrew McFadden is back under pressure after the Warriors’ humiliating performance against Souths. He is no chance of keeping his job if the Warriors miss the finals in 2016.
North Queensland Cowboys
Jordan McLean is firming to join the Cowboys by the day. North Queensland are looking for a quality young prop to replace James Tamou.
Parramatta have quashed to rumour that Benji Marshall will be offered a deal for 2017. The Eels desperately need halves but are not interested in the polarising veteran.
Penrith are on the hunt for a new CEO after Corey Payne was forced out after just four months in the job. Payne is unlikely to get another gig in Rugby League administration anytime soon.
St George Illawarra Dragons
Nene MacDonald is set to join St George Illawarra as the Dragon look boost their punch out wide MacDonald is in scintillating form for the Titans.
South Sydney Rabbitohs
Knights workhorse Robbie Rochow is set to join South Sydney in 2017, knocking back offers from Newcastle and Cronulla. Rochow has been injured plenty the last two seasons but is a quality player when healthy.
The Roosters win on Sunday after Aidan Guerra was dropped has sealed his fate at the club. Guerra has likely played his last top grade match for the Tricolours.
Expect David Nofoaluma to shift to fullback this week with Jordan Rankin set to keep his wing/hooker role. Rankin has been solid as the backup rake for the Tigers.
