Wolf’s Racing Guide – Wednesday, 24 January

Wolf’s Best

Commanding Witness (Hawkesbury Race 2, No. 2)

Commanding Witness has trialled three times in readiness for this and should be hard to beat first up.

Expect he’ll fly out to lead from the draw as he previously has done and linking up with prolific front running jockey like Katelyn Mallyon he should be able to get all the favours throughout.

His form around Assimilate and Dracarys reads well for this and The Wolf is confident he’ll be going home the winner.

Recommended Bet: Commanding Witness to WIN.

Florid (Hawkesbury Race 5, No. 2)

Florid stepped up to Saturday grade last start at Randwick and was far from disgraced behind Rose Of Man that day.

Prior to running at Randwick he placed behind Sasso Corbaro at Hawkesbury where he put in an event effort when first up from a fourth month break.

He gets the blinkers on here and from barrier 3 The Wolf is expecting a much improved effort from the son of Commands.

Recommended Bet: Florid to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Euroman (Ballarat Race 7, No. 9)

Euroman is fourth up from the Darren Weir stable who looks ready to win stepping up to 2200m.

He’s a winner over this distance earlier in his career at Geelong and with the fitness he’ll have taken from his first three runs this prep The Wolf is expecting he’ll be set to peak fourth up for this.

Dean Yendall takes the reins who has won on him before and The Wolf is expecting this son of Manduro to get the job done here.

Recommended Bet: Euroman to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Orakei Overlord (Ballarat Race 8, No. 6)

Orakei Overlord won well last start at Hamilton against a relatively strong field of Class 1 gallopers.

He’s an ex-kiwi who since arriving in Australia has had three race starts for two wins and a second placing behind Mawzoona; who subsequently placed in a hot form race at Sandown.

The Wolf is confident this son of Iffraaj will take running down here and with familar jockey in Billy Egan taking the reins he’ll get every chance to get the job done.

Recommended Bet: Orakei Overlord to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Bolter

Diamond Spinner (Ballarat Race 6, No. 9)

Diamond Spinner has won twice when running third up and The Wolf suspects she could be able to do it again here at a price.

Last start she finished off nicely at Stawell, placing second behind Havadash in a reasonably strong BM64.

The Wolf suspects she is over the odds at the current price and he recommends betting on an each way basis at the current $12.00/$3.50.

Recommended Bet: Diamond Spinner EACH WAY.
