Wolf’s Racing Guide – Wednesday, 21 February

The Wolf is off to Caulfield & Canterbury for his best bets this Wednesday! He is keen on a last start winner at Canterbury who should remain undefeated over the course and distance and he is also keen on a first starter who won has trialled very well.

Wolf’s Best

Miss Que (Canterbury Race 8, No.6)

Miss Que is looking for her third win over this course and distance and The Wolf is confident she will get it. She stepped out well last start to settle near the rear before powering down the outside of the field to win. She put in an eye-catching performance that day and The Wolf is expecting a more dominant display here being second up. Corey Brown has won on her both times which adds confidence and with enough speed on up front he expects her to be winning.
Recommended Price: $4.00

Circuit Bets

Ridicule (Canterbury Race 2, No. 6)

Ridicule placed at Randwick behind Swaffham Bulbeck first up and if she’s improved off that run for this The Wolf is expecting her to win. She’s drawn well in barrier 1 and with the inside draw The Wolf is expecting a change of tactics with her flying through to lead. This may or may not be the case, but he expects against the small for her to get all the favours in the run prove very hard to beat.
Recommended Price: $2.25
Confidence Level:

Top Of The Range (Caulfield Race 3, No. 8)

Top Of The Range won well when second up last prep and The Wolf is expecting him to do the same again here. He beat home a very solid field when second up last prep which included Lord Macau, Netherfield & Macattack; all of whom have since come out and won. He ran well first up last start over 1400m behind Runson and off that run gave every indication that with race fitness and a step up in distance he could go home the winner.
Recommended Price: $3.70
Confidence Level:

Pamela (Caulfield Race 5, No. 5)

Pamela was very good on debut at Cranbourne and then again when winning her maiden at Kyneton. The Wolf has been impressed with this filly across her short two-start career and with improvement he is expecting her city debut to be a winning one. Stephanie Thornton should take her straight to the front from barrier 1 and from there take plenty of running down.
Recommended Price: $6.50
Confidence Level:

Pedro Ximenez (Caulfield Race 6, No. 10)

Pedro Ximenez has turned a corner in his last two starts and if he continues to improve off those runs here he’ll take beating. He finished off nicely last start from worse than midfield in what was an eye-catching run to be narrowly beaten by half a length over 2400m at Sandown. He’s drawn well in barrier 6 where Moloney should look to settle him closer to speed and with clear running room in the straight end up going home the winner.
Recommended Price: $9.00

Confidence Level:

Aylmerton (Canterbury Race 1, No. 4)

Aylmerton is a first starter from the Jean Dubois stable who looks well placed to win on debut. He won a trial leading into this at Rosehill when beating home Irish Bet; who won the Listed Nursery Stakes on debut & also Spin; who placed in the Vein Plate behind Legend Of Condor. This is top 2yo form and if he can bring his trial form to the racetrack he’ll be in the finish. Jean Van Overmeire should look to settle him on the speed from the inside draw which will be to his benefit on a tight turning track like Canterbury.
Recommended Price: EACH WAY at $10.00/$3.20
