Wolf’s Racing Guide – Wednesday, 16 May

The Wolf is off to Sandown & Warwick Farm for his Wednesday Racing Guide! The Wolf is very keen on Fifty Stars, who is looking to make it three wins from as many starts..

Wolf’s Best

Fifty Stars (Sandown Race 5, No. 2)

Fifty Stars is undefeated in two starts and looks well placed to make it three in a row here. His last start win at Warrnambool was full of merit and if he brings that form here he’ll be winning. He raced midfield that day at Warrnambool before showing his class to score by over a length. He steps up in grade for this which is always difficult but the rise in distance to 1400m is in his favour as he gave every indication that he would be much improved over further.
Recommended Price: $3.50

Circuit Bets

Creedence (Sandown Race 4, No. 5)

Creedence should be rock hard fit off his fourth placing in the VRC St Leger and if he can run up to that form here he’ll take beating. The form out of that race has been franked by Rezealient and Runaway; the pair ran the quinella in the VRC St Leger and have both subsequently come out and placed second and third respectively in the Group 1 S.A Derby. Creedence brings by far and away the best form into this race and with six runs under his belt since his debut he should be fit enough to see out the 2400m. The booking of Michael Walker indicates to The Wolf that this galloper is ready to win and he is keen to be betting on him accordingly.
Recommended Price: $5.50

Costa Bomb (Sandown Race 6, No. 8)

Costa Bomb is 2/2 when second up and at the current double figures appeals on an each way basis. She placed in a BM80 at Penola last start which reads well for this and if she can settle midfield with cover from barrier 4 she’ll get every chance to win here. The Paul Preusker stable is flying at present and The Wolf is very keen to be on Costa Bomb at an each ways basis.
Recommended Price: $10/$3.25

Moonlover (Sandown Race 3, No. 1)

Moonlover drops in grade for this and should benefit from that. She’s having her third run back this prep which is ideal and with Ethan Brown electing to ride she looks hard to beat. She’s yet to record a win at Sandown but has come close on numerous occasions behind some very smart gallopers like Widgee Turf and Life On The Wire, both of whom would be near favourites to win this.
Recommended Price: $7.50

Its Time For Magic (Warwick Farm Race 6, No. 7)

Its Time For Magic is a perennial placegetter who finished second in all three of her runs in 2018. She regularly runs well but regularly finds one better and at the current price looks an outstanding each way bet. although this is a step up in grade, it doesn’t appear to be any stronger on paper and if she runs up to her usual best she’ll finish inside the placings. Kerrin McEvoy takes the reins indicating to The Wolf that she is once again ready to win and with a senior pair of hands on board should be getting every chance to do so.
Recommended Price: $8.00

Bolter

Cape Wickham (Warwick Farm Race 4, No. 6)

Cape Wickham has won his last two in much weaker grade and off those two wins looks ready to step up to metro grade. He sat just behind the leaders last at Wagga before peeling out in the straight to score by over a length. He’s a talented galloper who on his home track appears to be over the odds. Corey Brown sticks aboard which is a positive and stepping up to the mile should see a much improved Cape Wickham.
Recommended Price: $14/$4.25
