Wolf’s Racing Guide – Wednesday, 11 July

The Wolf is off to Sandown & Warwick Farm for his Wednesday Racing Guide! The Wolf has singled out Mr Haussmann as his best bet of the day. Mr Haussmann is an ex-Kiwi who looks very hard to beat after finishing just over a length behind Seahampton last start..

Wolf’s Best

Mr Haussmann (Warwick Farm Race 5, No. 3)

Mr Haussmann finessed a length behind Seahampton last start which looks to be a very good form reference moving forward for this. Seahampton has subsequently gone on to win a smart metro race at Randwick and if Mr Haussmann can run anywhere close to that level here he’ll take beating. He’s having his third run here since arriving from New Zealand and The Wolf is confident that he is fit, experience and ready to win. Hugh Bowman takes the reins here which is a plus and from the inside draw he shapes as the one they all have to beat.
Recommended Price: $2

Circuit Bets

Kissing Game (Warwick Farm Race 3, No. 4)

Kissing Game closed well first up behind Bombarding at Warwick Farm and has won second up previously in her career. She’ll be much better for that run and with Jay Ford engaged shapes as the one to beat. There will more than likely be a very hot tempo on up front and if Jay Ford can get a nice trial just in behind them she will get every chance to run over the top of them.
Recommended Price: $4.20

Sweet Scandal (Warwick Farm Race 4, No. 7)

Sweet Scandal scored an impressive win over the 1250m last start and off that looks set to repeat that performance here. She gets Blake Shinn on again which is a positive and from the inside draw she should be able to find herself in the lead after 100m. She’s a filly who appears to be destined for bigger and better things and win here would stamp her claims toward a start on a Saturday in town. She’ll make her own luck out in front and should have no issue handling the rise in distance.
Recommended Price: $3.30

Magicus (Warwick Farm Race 6, No. 5)

Magicus has placed second in his last two starts by less than a length and off those two runs deserves another chance here. He’s drawn to get the gun run just in behind the speed and with luck he should prove tough to catch. He hasn’t won in almost two years which is a concern, but the conditions appear to suit here and The Wolf is confident that jockey Hugh Bowman will have been instructed to throw the kitchen sink at him.
Recommended Price: $3.70

Prometheus (Sandown Race 7, No. 8)

Prometheus brings down some key formlines from Sydney and if that stacks up against this field then he’ll prove tough to catch. First up at Rosehill he finished a length behind Flow in a very high rating BM95 and if he manages to run up to that level here he’ll be more than competitive. He’s placed in 2/3 when running third up and with Chris Parnham booked to ride he should be very tough to beat.
Recommended Price: $7.50

Bolter

Lagerfeld (Sandown Race 3, No. 3)

Lagerfeld drops severely in grade for this from open company and should be competitive in this back to a BM64. His last run against BM64 graded horses saw him win by over a length and if he replicates that here he’ll be in the finish. He’s lugged the heavyweight before which shouldn’t be a problem and with luck he’ll get every chance. Liam Riordan is expected to settle him midfield with cover before letting down in the straight to give chase.
Recommended Price: $17/$5
