Ballarat Race 8 No.7 Fife – $2.30
Fife, a nicely bred daughter of Starcraft from a dual Oaks placegetter in Dane Belltar, looks a promising filly in the making. She faces her toughest test here taking on older horses, including males, but she has plenty of upside and the step up to a mile will suit further.
Ballarat Race 6 No.2 Harbour Grey – $1.70
Harbour Grey raced with great vigour at his last prep and wasn’t too bad first up under the circumstances of the race, which looks to be a pretty good form reference. May attempt to dictate proceedings here and would be best off being in front of Beluga Caviar and make him chase him down as Harbour Grey will definitely fight when challenged.
Lismore Race 6 No.4 Doughty – $3
Doughty usually goes around in better races than this and looks well placed here. Hasn’t won for almost a year but he relishes the sting out of the ground and that looks set to happen here. They’ll most likely push forward here from the wide draw and look to lead – if he doesn’t get hassled in front he will be too good for these first up.
Wagga Race 2 No.13 Token Of Love – $4.60
Token Of Love had trialled well in the lead up to her debut and did a good job running on into third as she clearly wasn’t that comfortable on the shifty surface. The form out of that race has stacked up somewhat and she’ll be a lot better off for that experience. Returns here in a maiden without a heap of depth and draws close to the rails so she should get a perfect trail.
