Taree Race 7 No.3 Ocean Grand – $2.70
Three starts back Ocean Grand beat Clearly Innocent, winner of the Country Championships qualifier at Scone last Sunday, giving him weight, in a Highway Handicap at Rosehill in a superb effort – that reads very well for this race. He failed on the wet track when dropped back in trip his next start, but proved he was fine when he got the job done in tradesman like fashion at Coffs Harbour last time out. Think he may well be looking for the 1400m now, which he gets here for this, and from barrier 4 and with premier jock Brenton Avdulla aboard, he’s bound to get a perfect run – expect him to win and he’ll be a chance come grand final time when he lines up in the Country Championships Final during the Carnival.

Nowra Race 4 No.3 All About Magic – $6.00
All About Magic produced a great effort on debut when flashing home into third behind Hi Sexy at Nowra back in August of last year. She then came to town and was long odds when she fell at Canterbury. Given a good break after that, All About Magic has had two quiet trials on her home track at Warwick Farm and should be ready to go first up – she’s struck a maiden without a whole heap of quality form in it and looks nicely in after the claim – hard to beat.

Nowra Race 7 No.7 Once Were Warriors – $1.50

Not a whole heap needs to be said about this promising gelding from the David Vandyke stable – as it stands right now think he’s a genuine Australian Derby prospect and this really should just be a matter of him staying upright and not copping any interference to get his maiden out of the way. He’ll be very short, but he’s a great anchor for any multis today.

Sale Race 6 No.3 Absolutelycertain – $2.00
Absolutelycertain has been screaming out to get to at least the 1400m she’ll get here and this looks a nice race for her to grab her second win this time in. The Colin Little trained mare rocketed home first up, was a little bit flat second up when failing on a rain affected track in better grade, before working home nicely last Sunday at Ballarat into third behind Must Be Mink, giving every indication she wanted further. Over this trip she may even be able to settle closer from the nice alley.
