Wolf’s Best
Randwick Race 6, No.3 Solicit
Solicit is a mare right at the top of her game. She found Our Boy Malachi too sharp over 1200m first-up before giving Winx a bunny to chase down at Randwick. She was only beaten a length by the star mare which reads exceptionally well for this. Kerrin McEvoy has really clicked with this five-year-old and if he can rate her as well as last start, she’ll win this comfortably. Staying at 1400m perfect third-up and there’s no obvious pressure, despite the big field.

Caulfield Race 3, No.4 Mossin’ Around
This filly has come a long way in her first preparation. She won on debut at monster odds beating the smart Tsaritsa. Since then she has been beaten by Hellbent down the straight, with a space back to third. She was then swooped on by Group One filly Risque at this track at her latest outing. The 1400m is new territory for her but she only has to hold her form to be in the money again at each-way odds. Underrated galloper.

Randwick Race 8, No.10 Rich Enuff
The Wolf liked what he saw form this four-year-old on his debut for the Snowdens. Most importantly, he behaved himself on the track as he’d shown to be very coltish prior. Missed in a three-way go behind Big Money but strips fitter for that and meets him 1kg better. He’s at his best rolling along out in front and he won’t have Aussies Love Sport carving him up today. Pings to the front from barrier 2 and gives a huge sight. Great to see the Snowden/Browne combo back too.

Caulfield Race 9, No. 10 Azkadellia
Ripped home first-up and despite going down as favourite, she lost no admirers. The Wolf was against her there but he is back on the wagon out to 1400m. She has drawn to give another big start but with Ollie steering and Miss Rose De Lago, Wawail, Choose and Fast Approaching running along she’ll get every chance to gobble them up over the final 200m. Expect an improved effort from Wawail who was never in the right spot last start.

Caulfield Race 8, No.13 Griante
One of the better $30+ shots you’ll find in an Oakleigh Plate. This mare was airborne over the spring, which worked against her in the end as her connections were too aggressive with their placement. Her effort in the G1 Moir to slash home beaten only 1.6L behind Buffering was enormous. The Wolf’s full Oakleigh Plate preview is below but before you go any further, take the big odds now before they disappear (like The Wolf’s bolter last week Religify).

Blue Diamond Stakes (Caulfield)
The Wolf is siding with the horse with the most x-factor in the Diamond but he’s giving a few roughies a hope. Full Runner By Runner preview.

Need some help dissecting the Oakleigh Plate? The Wolf breaks it down Runner By Runner.

Futurity Stakes (Caulfield)
Suavito is the defending champion and returned with a terrific win in the Orr Stakes. Slight query as to whether she flattens out a touch second-up after such a big effort fresh off a long break. Must respect her though. The Wolf thought Turn Me Loose was excellent first-up in the Orr and his form shows he improves sharply second-up. He’s the one to beat and The Wolf is pretty confident about his chances.

Chipping Norton Stakes (Randwick)
Impossible to make a case against Winx. Chasing seven straight wins and now she can race closer to the speed, there are no chinks in her armor. Chris Waller has won four of the past five editions of this race too. Godolphin have three in the race including Hartnell who ran a monster second in this race last year. His spring form was so-so but tipping he can bounce back over the autumn. He looks the quinella horse.
