Wolf’s Best
Tower Of Song (Canterbury, Race 2)
Tower Of Song really caught the eye first-up at Rosehill. This five-year-old in the Snowden yard only trialled fairly but The Wolf loved the way he worked to the line to run second behind the flying Super Tycoon. He was beaten a space but it was still a terrific run. He has won over the Canterbury 1550m in the past and gets the services of Blake Shinn. Weak field and everything points to a win.

Getemhel (Geelong, Race 1)
This filly was only fair on debut at Morphettville back in March but the fact that Nigel Blackiston kicked her off in a Listed race suggests he has an opinion of this Gio Ponti mare. What got The Wolf on board however was her jumpouts this time in. She’s showed speed to put herself on the bunny and idled down in good time. Expect a really forward showing at double figure odds.

Loverboy Charlie (Canterbury, Race 5)
This four-year-old is flying for Gerald Ryan this preparation. He resumed a gelding at Gosford and blew his rivals away before winning tough at Hawkesbury. Last start he matched motors with Rockafella over the Canterbury 1100m only to be edged out. He’s a smart horse Rockafella and there was a gap back to third. With even luck from the wide gate expect him to reel in the likely leader and danger Lucky Fish.

Fabulonh (Geelong, Race 8)
The Wolf’s legion of followers will recall the win of this gelding first-up as he tipped him paying $11. Now we back up again. He was ridden very aggressively by Ollie, who sticks here, and despite his condition failing him over the final stages he held on bravely to win. He’ll strip much fitter for that. The Wolf pegged him as a horse to follow all preparation. Don;t get off the train now.

Wolf’s Bolter
Serve And Volley (Canterbury, Race 7)
Don’t read too much into this mare’s seventh last start. She got a long way out of her ground from a wide gate and never looked likely. Her final sectionals were encouraging though. That, coupled with her first-up win, says she has come back in great form this campaign. She’ll pinch another race soon, and The Wolf is hoping this is it with the very much in form Deanne Panya steering.
