Ararat Race 1 No.7 Ticket To Paris – $1.80
The Wolf is looking to get the cash early at Ararat with Ticket To Paris. This three-year-old filly boasts two placings in her two outings to date. Resuming from a spell here, she showed in a recent Flemington jumpout that she has returned in terrific order. The Ellerton & Zahra stable is airborne at the moment.
Cranbourne Race 1 No.9 Ballybrit – $3.10
After running a nice third the very smart Zuprising at Sandown last time out, Ballybrit now steps in distance and appears to be extremely hard to beat in what looks a pretty average maiden here. She’s a filly screaming out for at least this type of trip and she draws the get the gun run. It’s hard to see anything improving enough to challenge her given that formline she has and connections will be disappointed if she can’t break through in this.
Cranbourne Race 5 No.3 Got You Double – $3.40
Got You Double was ridden a bit upside down last at his previous start at Moonee Valley and was probably still coming to his peak fitness level – it wasn’t a bad run given the circumstances. He should now be spot on for this easier race and would like to see him ridden a much colder from the wide draw – champion jock Damien Oliver can sort that out for us. He’s certainly up to this lot and he’s got more upside than all of his rivals here – with luck in running he’ll be extremely hard to beat.
Wellington Race 1 No.2 Mar Nero – $4.40
It’s hard to be super confident about a horse that’s had 12 starts and yet to register a win but Mar Nero won’t find a better chance to finally break through than this. He comes out of better maidens at his last two starts, where he’s run on well both times, and he should be hard fit now with this being his third run back. His rivals here aren’t a scary lot and with the claim and nice draw Mar Nero should chalk up win number one.
