Wolf’s Best
Gold Heist (Race 5, No,3)
Gold Heist should be winning now Danuki is scratched. This gelding was good and sound in heavy conditions at Moe last time out, just peaking on her run late. She was 70 days between runs there. What is also in her favour is the drop back to 1013m from 1113m. Gets in nicely after the claim of Stockdale. Her race to lose.

Impregnable (Sale, Race 1)
This I Am Invincible youngster was no match for the smart Nasdex on debut but loved the way he chased through the line. Nasdex was swamped by Derryn and Sword Of Light at Caulfield on Saturday but the form is obviously strong. He’s bred to handle the wet and looks suited out to 1200m. In the Mick Price stable, he’ll get every chance to earn his way.

Pittsburgh (Warwick Farm, Race 1)
The last time we saw this colt he finished sixth in the Silver Slipper – there were only seven runners but he was only 3.6L from the winner Astern. In two of his other three runs he bumped into Yankee Rose. What’s also in his favour is a heavy track second. With two trials under his belt, he should be fit enough to get through the conditions and start building a prizemoney bank to contest better races over the spring.

Little Miss Brown (Warwick Farm, Race 5)
The 1200m is short of her best but she’ll be nice and fresh first-up and should have little trouble handling the wet. That gives her a good hope in this winnable race. The last time was saw her she broke her maiden at Wyong. Her form prior to that around the likes of Crevettine, Modha, Top Of My List and Make A Ripple stacks up well for this. Won a barrier trial here recently showing more tactical speed.

Wolf’s Bolter
Gracious Grey (Warwick Farm, Race 2)
Really deep fillies race with the likes of Cocoexcel, Moqueen and Red Hearts all demanding respect but The Wolf is happy to take the odds about for Gracious Grey. This Redoute’s Choice youngster in the Ron Quinton yard didn’t have any luck on debut (after being heavily backed). She was posted wide and never figured with Crafty Cop leading all the way. Has trialled well again and drawn soft in barrier 2.
