Wolf’s Racing Guide – Thursday, 12 April

The Wolf his cast his eye over the fields for Thursday and has singled out a few best bets at Wyong, Kilmore, Pakenham, and Mackay.

Wolf’s Best

Penske (Wyong Race 2, No.1)

Penske put in a very good first up at Newcastle when he attempted to lead all the way but was just run down late. He should take good fitness benefit from that performance and second up here looks primed to go one better. Josh Parr should be able to control things from the front.

Recommended Price: $2.50

Circuit Bets

Sharp End (Kilmore Race 1, No.5)

Sharp End is a 3YO by Commands on debut for Mick Kent, and given his solid trial form it will be no surprise to see him make a winning debut. He has had three trials in anticipation for this, finishing no worse than third, and from barrier one he should get the perfect run in order to get his career off to the right start.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.25

Top Ravine (Mackay Race 2, No.6)

Top Ravine was an impressive winner two starts go before performing bravely under 61.5Kg last start when finishing second to Helluva Hoffa. He gets a huge weight drop under the conditions here, from 61Kg all the way down to 54.5Kg. That should be enough to see him back in the winners stall.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $1.80

Chandon Apparel (Pakenham Race 3, No.6)

Chandon Apparel comes out of a hot maiden at her last start, with the winner Sopressa being backed off the map in Adelaide in stakes company and running well, while third placegetter Haylin Rouge has also won since. There was a huge margin to fourth on that occasion, so it would seem Chandon Apparel is primed to break her maiden status. Look for her to do that tonight.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.20
