Wolf’s Racing Guide – Sha Tin, 10 February

Wolf’s Best

Strathclyde (Sha Tin Race 9, No. 5)

Strathclyde has won twice from four starts on the All-Weather Track and The Wolf is expecting him to build on this record here.

He was beaten in his last two starts over this course and distance which on paper reads as a concern, however both runs have been outstanding and a repeat of either of those here suggest he’ll be in the finish.

He’s drawn well where Nash Rawiller should look to settle him just behind the leaders before peeling out in the straight to give chase.

Recommended Bet: Strathclyde to WIN.

Nuclear Power (Sha Tin Race 2, No. 9)

Nuclear Power put in an improved performance to finish second and The Wolf is confident he’ll be able to go one better here.

He races better when he’s settled on the speed and from barrier 9 Matthew Poon should have no trouble crossing to settle him there.

The 3kg claim helps and with luck The Wolf is expecting he’ll go home the winner.

Recommended Bet: Nuclear Power to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Goldie Flanker (Sha Tin Race 4, No. 5)

Goldie Flanker put in an eye-catching run last start after being held up and if he repeats that here he’ll take beating.

Last season he won four in a row over this course and distance and if brings any of those runs here he’ll go home the winner.

He gets back in the run which is a concern but The Wolf is predicting a hot tempo here and with that should get every chance to run on.

He could be double figures here depending on the Hong Kong Tote and on that The Wolf recommends betting to place as well as the win.

Recommended Bet: Goldie Flanker to EACH WAY.

Confidence Level:

Conte (Sha Tin Race 7, No. 6)

Conte is undefeated in four starts and The Wolf is expecting him to make it five from five with a win here.

He’s a very straight forward horse who just needs to find the front and from there plays catch me if you can.

This isn’t an overly strong Class 2 and The Wolf expects that stepping up to the mile will pose no threat.

Recommended Bet: Conte to WIN.

Confidence Level:

Energetic Class (Sha Tin Race 8, No. 10)

Energetic Class has placed in his last two starts and off those two runs The Wolf is confident he can finally breakthrough for an overdue win.

He’s drawn well in barrier 7 where he should be able to find a spot on the speed and from there take running down.

He’s yet to win in Class 3 which is a concern, however this doesn’t appear to be an overly strong field and if he runs up to his best he’ll take beating.

Recommended Bet: Energetic Class to WIN.
