Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 19 May

We head to Flemington & Rosehill this Saturday! The Wolf’s found plenty of value this Saturday including a $51 shot at Flemington who should run a very big race after trialing over the fences at Cranbourne..

Wolf’s Best

Eclair Calling (Flemington Race 3, No. 14)

Eclair Calling placed behind Flying Murty last start at Caulfield and The Wolf is supremely confident this form will hold up here. He steps out to the mile which will suit as he gave every indication running over 1400m that the mile would be his go. He’s drawn very well in barrier 2 with Noel Callow aboard and The Wolf is confident of him receiving a very soft run throughout.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.20

Circuit Bets

Hemmerle (Rosehill Race 2, No. 8)

Hemmerle is undefeated in two outings and The Wolf is expecting this trend to continue with him winning his third race in as many starts. He beat home a class field of 16 gallopers last start at Wagga and although this is a much tougher task, it is a step up he capable of making and The Wolf is prepared to be on him to find out.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $8/$2.40

My Nordic Hero (Flemington Race 5, No. 7)

My Nordic Hero is a 2000m horse and with only 54kg on his back for this he can make his presence felt. He finished off nicely for fourth last start at Rosehill in the Listed Lord Mayors Cup and The Wolf is confident that this is the right form to be winning here. Admittedly Boom Time will be hard to beat, but at the price My Nordic Hero represents the value and The Wolf is keen to be on him each way.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $9.50/$2.90

Solo Mission (Rosehill Race 5, No. 8)

Solo Mission couldn’t have been more impressive in his Australian debut last start when winning by a short head over 1500m. He steps out over 2000m for this which looks to his optimum distance and with luck should take plenty of running down. He come sup against Roman Son for this, who has stamped himself as one of Sydney’s premier middle-distance gallopers by putting together two impressive victories this preparation. At the price Solo Mission appeals and if he brings his UK form here he’ll take running down.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $5

Charlevoix (Flemington Race 7, No. 8)

Charlevoix has refused to win his last two starts stepping up in distance and The Wolf is prepared to give him one more chance. He steps up to 3200m for this which suits, as he appears to be as dour as they come. He’s drawn well in barrier 7 and if he continues to perform as he has last start he will take running down. Jye McNeil rode him last time and retains the ride here which is a plus and at the price he appeals on an each way basis.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $9/$3

Iconoclasm (Flemington Race 9, No. 1)

Iconoclasm scored a commanding win over 1400m at this track last start and The Wolf is expecting sharp improvement from him stepping out over the mile. He’ll camp just in behind the speed runners before peeling out in the straight to give chase. Ethan Brown won well on this horse last start and The Wolf is expecting the pair to do the same again here.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $2.40

Bolter

Hardern (Flemington Race 4, No. 12)

Hardern comes into this race relatively underrated by the market and The Wolf is keen to be betting on him at an each way basis. Last start against BM64 grade he finished off nicely for second, behind She’s Got Speed from the Hayes/Dabernig stable. The key to this horses chances is that he should be rock hard fit from his recent trial over the hurdles and if he runs up to his best he’ll go close here. This stable has a history of trialing runners over the hurdles prior to them being very competitive and at $51/$9.25 The Wolf is prepared to find out here.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $51/$9.25
