Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 23 June

We head to Flemington & Randwick this Saturday! This week The Wolf is keen on Ozi Choice who scored an impressive win last start over this course and distance and once again should prove very tough to run down.

Wolf’s Best

Ozi Choice (Flemington Race 7, No. 1)

Ozi Choice scored an impressive win over this course and distance last start and looks exceptionally well placed here to repeat that performance. He posted a speedy time over 1400m that day and he’s shown to The Wolf that he has grown a strong affinity to the 1400m start at Flemington. He’ll take beating here and with Dean Yendall engaged again he shapes as the hardest to beat.

Circuit Bets

King’s Trust (Randwick Race 1, No. 5)

King’s Trust scored an impressive win on the Kensington track last start and if he can translate that form to here he’ll prove very tough to run down. He sat midfield that day before peeling out in the straight to score by over a length. The Wolf is confident the form out of that race is strong, as the second placegetter in that race; Canyonero, has placed against Listed company. Tim Clark takes the reins from barrier 7, where he’ll look to settle the colt midfield before letting him loose in the straight.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $5.50

Star Fall (Flemington Race 1, No. 4)

Star Fall scored an impressive win last start at Ballarat last time out and if he can reproduce that performance here he’ll take catching. Prior to his debut, he impressed The Wolf in a trial when placing second before finishing midfield at Caulfield on debut. His win last start indicated to The Wolf that he was ready to race on a Saturday and if he can find his best here he’ll take running down.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.30

Seaway (Randwick Race 5, No. 7)

Seaway was narrowly beaten in the Group 2 Queensland Guineas last start and off that run he shapes as the one to beat here. He drops severely in grade for this and with only 53kg on his back he is exceptionally well weighted. Taking on the older horses can always be difficult, but his form is very hard to argue with and from the draw he maps to get a very soft run throughout.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $1.90

Alassio (Randwick Race 6, No. 7)

Alassio scored an impressive all-the-way win on the Kensington track last start and if she does the same again here she’ll prove tough to catch. She’s chasing her fourth win in as many start to remain undefeated, and assuming she handles the rise in grade then she’ll give herself every chance to win. Rachel King takes the reins which is a bonus as she has managed to win on the mare twice from two attempts. The price about this galloper is right and The Wolf is prepared to find out if she can hold off the challengers in this.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.70

Remember The Name (Flemington Race 6, No. 5)

Remember The Name scored an impressive win last start over 1400m at Flemington and off that should be ready to step up to the mile and win. Last prep she finished two lengths behind Bring Me Roses & Hiyaam in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes which is a very good form reference moving forward, as Hiyaam subsequently went on to win the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes. She’s drawn well for jockey Damien Oliver where he’ll more than likely look to settle her right in behind the leading duo.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $6

Bolter

Rocket Tommy (Flemington Race 9, No. 5)

Rocket Tommy scored an impressive win last start for The Wolf over 1000m at Flemington and he is keen to follow him here again. He does his best racing over the Flemington straight and him and Jarrod Fry have combined for three wins together over it. He’ll be better for the run for this and although this is a much tougher assignment, he represents excellent each way value at $9/$3 and The Wolf is keen to be on him.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $9/$3
