Wolf’s Racing Guide – Saturday, 9 June

We head to Flemington & Randwick this Saturday! The Wolf is keen on Silvera who is third up and ready to win for trainer Tony McEvoy!

Wolf’s Best

Silvera (Flemington Race 4, No. 5)

Silvera is nearing a win off his last two runs and The Wolf is supremely confident of that win coming here. He won at Flemington last campaign and with even luck should be doing that again here. His two runs have been very competitive and the step up to 1800m for this suits. He drops 6kg off his last run and with Regan Bayliss aboard shapes as the one to beat.

Circuit Bets

The August (Flemington Race 1, No. 4)

The August won well on debut last start and The Wolf is expecting he will keep this unbeaten record in tact. Drawn well for Noel Callow he should be able to settle somewhere on the speed and take catching from there. Assuming he handles the straight he should go very close to winning this.

Recommended Price: $6

Tarcoola Spirit (Randwick Race 3, No. 7)

Tarcoola Spirit loves it wet and The Wolf is confident that her running in Sydney is in search of a heavy deck. She placed behind Egyptian Bullet at Flemington last start and off that looks ready to run a big race. She’s drawn well in barrier 4 where Christian Reith can look to settle her on the speed where she will get every chance in the run to score.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $6.50

Rocket Tommy (Flemington Race 5, No. 6)

Rocket Tommy managed to win two in a row at Flemington last year and if he repeats either of those runs here he’ll be winning. Since then he was sent around the bend where he appeared to struggle and a return to straight racing should spark sharp improvement in him. Jarrod Fry is the only jockey to have ever won on this galloper and off his latest five-length trial win he looks set to return with a bang!
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $7.50

I Am Serious (Randwick Race 5, No. 4)

I Am Serious ran a bolter last start without winning and The Wolf is expecting her to return to the winner’s stall against this field. She flew late to just miss and stepping up to the mile for this should see her finish in first. Tye Angland has his first sit on the talented mare and from barrier 9 should be settling near last in the run before exploding from out wide.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3

I Thought So (Randwick Race 8, No. 6)

I Thought So has turned into somewhat of a problem for the punters having placed five times when he arguably could have and should have won. He returned first up for the new stable last start at Randwick and ran a huge race over 1100m only to go down by a nose to Dreamforce who came from last to get him on the line. He gets yet another excellent chance to score a well-deserved win and The Wolf is confident that it will come here.
Confidence Level:
Recommended Price: $3.30

Bolter

Eschiele (Flemington Race 6, No. 13)

Eschiele does his best racing when third up (4: 1-3-0) and if does exactly that here he’ll go close. He drops 4.5kg off his last run and from barrier 1 maps to get a dream run throughout. This is a much tougher field but if well within his ability to put in a strong showing and The Wolf is expecting exactly that. The key to this horse is finding out when he is expected to peak and The Wolf is confident that it will come here. He represent great each way value at $26/$7.25.

Recommended Price: $26/$7.25
